No doubt. Apparently they were last year's, if you see post #73.

I had the pleasure to drink a draft pint of Ayinger Oktoberfest beer at a local beer bar earlier this evening. I really enjoyed that beer. I did not perceive any diacetyl in that beer and I am highly sensitive to this off-flavor.

I would encourage other BAs to give draft Ayinger Oktoberfest a try if they see it in tap.

I will not be buying any bottled Ayinger this year.

    Cheers!

If I see it, I'll definitely order one up.

The diacetyl issue is either a batch problem or even some old cases floating around, but we'll never know because there is no way to track these things.

Don't they also have 12oz. bottles? I may actually take a chance on those if I see them.

I'm slightly biased but I enjoy our brewery's Oktoberfest every fall. :zipper_mouth:

I always buy Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest, so I'm kind of bummed to hear that it's not as good this year. I'll still buy it though. I might have to get another Oktoberfest beer if it's not to my liking. The giant cans of Paulaner are still fun to drink once in a while. :confounded:

Yes. The place I went to earlier this evening had a four pack of small bottles (11.2 ounce bottles I think). The price for the four pack was $13. Too pricey for my tastes. Based upon past communications you will likely find it much cheaper in your area.

    Cheers!

I am not a huge fan of Octoberfests, although its been a while. I tried a Weihenstephaner Festbier this evening. It was very nice. I guess I didn't realize that there were two different types of Octoberfests, pale and amber. I definitely prefer the pale to amber.

IMO it's the best I've had this year, opinions vary.

Same price here, not for a 4 pack. I bought 500 ml bottles I believe. Too sweet for me, perhaps I'm a pale guy vs Amber.

I admittedly have only had one Oktoberfest this season, Sierra Nevada's wonderful Oktoberfest collaboration with Brauhaus Miltenberger, but it is one of the better Oktoberfest beers I've had. This collaboration series has been tremendous, with the best being, in my opinion, the SN collaboration with Brauhaus Riegele in 2015.

I just had the sam admas oktoberfest and I did not care for it. I think they are using a blend of malts to create the right color but it is sadly lacking any breadiness and the middle very thin. However it is less sweet than years prior and has a little toasty flavor. But without the breaddy depth it does not have the right body.

Sam Adams remains one of the best. Schlafly's Imperial Oktoberfest is my favorite, although it's not really fair to compare to non-imperial beers.

I was really excited to get some Ayinger soon, but based off the comments here it might be the first year I skip it :/

Looking forward to grabbing some Hofbrau... Never had it due to the green bottles but the brown bottles make this one a definite purchase this year... I like the lighter versions
