Found this bottle lingering in a cooler across town. They haven’t bottled this stuff in 4 or 5 years...

 

An extra day of vacation means another morning beer



My wife and I really enjoyed meeting up with @SawDog505 and his family at York River Landing. Great kids!

 

After a busy weekend, I'm really not sure what day it is? The temperature definitely defines what month for sure! Trying to motivate myself to clean up the grill from yesterday's festivities. In the meantime I'm gonna sit here and listen to the bluejays scream with this 2015 Bastard that has become quite sweet. I do my best now to drink these within the release year when the bourbon still shines. Cheers to what should be a quick week!

Just making a cameo, no biggie, but good to be posting a pic at least! Am off of the critical meds (which is good) and am allowed to have a few social beers now and again (VERY good!).



In memoriam....

 

Revision "Disco Ninja" ipa.

 

Saw this one for a little over $5 at Costco so I had to try it.

The label sounded fantastic - dry hop, saison, wine barrel aged, muscat grapes, raisins and spices.

But... I felt as if I couldn't pick most of things up as I drank it. It's on the tarter side for Almanac. You can taste the brett pretty easily. But everything else receded in the background. As it got warmer, there was more of a grape note to it. But I couldn't tell it touched a wine barrel or had any of the other adjuncts in it. Maybe age had something to do with it? (Bottled April 2017)

It's certainly not a bad sour. I was just more excited for it than what it ended up being.
