If I can juggle some things, that might happen this week.

Is Beer World the only/best bottle shop option while in Woodstock?

May have to stock up in BK if that's the case (pun intended).

I don't like being negative but I despise Beer World. My friends and I all don't shop there, and I will leave it there. I also don't recommend Van Loan's in Port Ewen. No info on others in that area.

Best stores west of the Hudson are party Beverage in Newburgh and k and e discount beverage in new paltz. Excellent selection,
very fair prices and no games at either spot ever.

Agreed with @cavedave you gotta hit district 96 either up or down. Very simple on off from the palisades, you don't need to hang but grab some quick crowlers, the beer is fantastic.

Newburgh has a great space to hang in but the beers are sort of so so, not bad usually not exceptional.

Hudson valley brewery is can't miss for sour beers onsite or in crowlers; further up Suarez is great and can be easily combined with sloop.

I DID get over there for a little while yesterday -- they didn't have a lot of options available after the holiday weekend (I think 6 taps in total), but the two guys (and one other customer in the bar at the time) working the taproom were really nice. The beers (including two IPA's) were all very good; all had very subtle/mild aromas and amazing mouthfeel. It's definitely a place I'll have to get to again.

Were you at the bar in Burger Loft or the taproom in District 96? We were there last Sunday in a large party, so we sat in Burger Loft. They told us that MOAB was kicked and they had no sours available other than a Founders can.

After we ate, a bunch of us went into District 96 where they did have MOAB available and they had a guest sour on tap. Just a heads up in case you were like us and assumed Burger Loft and District 96 had the same offerings.

Thanks for the tips on bottle shops.

Looking like we'll head straight to the Air BnB and plan on hitting Suarez, Sloop, Gaskins and Anchor while in Woodstock. Then Newburgh and District 96 on the way back down. Wish I could fit in Husdon Valley Brewery but they don't open until 2pm on Sundays.

For Newburgh, looks like they have a bunch in cans, at present. What are their best beers in cans?

I was just in the taproom for a very short time -- and I DID assume they had the same offerings, but since I was just drinking I wouldn't have gone next door anyway. But good to know for next time!!

Anyone headed through the Hudson Valley this weekend should check out Hoptember Fest at Dutchess Hops on Saturday...tickets going fast. I'll be there pouring all day.

Not sure what's in cans right now but megaboss is solid and checkpoint Charlie is a good Berliner. When they first opened I enjoyed their old school brown ale and oyster stouts but not sure if those are still made or canned.

Newburgh always has bottles that don't see distro, too. Usually sours, and very good ones at that.

    Good lookin on the suggestions @cavedave @Mikexw @tobelerone !

Was able to hit Suarez, Sloop, K&E Beverage and District 96 this past weekend. Ran out of beer on Saturday and had to throw some money at Beer World. The number of skews in that place gave me anxiety. Re: Sloop, great beers, but the gnat problem they have inside is JV.

Anyway, looking forward to knocking off a few more when we head back to the Catskills next year.

Any good beer bars in Hudson where someone visiting can try a bunch of local brews, ie Hudson Valley Brewery, Suarez, Sloop, etc?
