LIF: IVF for a friend

i wanted to drop a quick note and provide you all with an update. my friends have secured their loan and started their shots (which is pretty confusing from what im told). they are being cautiously optimistic everything will work out.

that said, so far, we have raised $500, and we are off to a great start. with that in mind, i have set a goal of $2,500, which means there is still some work to do. i am not going to beg and plead, but i ask that you give contributing another thought. thanks to everyone so far, and a reminder of the boxes in play:

hey guys - sorry for not being as visible here the past few weeks. i am going to leave this open for another month, most likely, to try and raise so more $$$. i will provide an update on their progress as well within the next couple of days, but work has been kicking my ass lately. ill keep you posted and thanks everyone for the donations!

 

again, im sorry for not being more active in here recently, but i wanted to give you an update. after some early bad news regarding potential eggs during the initial round of shots (a good number is high-teens/low 20s, and thew had less than half that), my friends ended up with 2 blastocysts, which are structures formed in the early development of fertilization and lead to an embryo. at this point, each blastocyst has about a 60% chance of being a viable pregnancy, so basially a 50/50 shot, which is good news to them as they have 2 good ones. so now, 1 egg will implanted into my buddys wife in early october.

so as far as how this impacts you guys is as follows: i am trying to coordinate good pregnancy news with some financial help from us, and subsequently, beer for you. that said, i would like to keep this open at least through this month to see if anyone else is kind enough to donate.

i appreciate all of your patience, and if this doesnt gain any more traction, i will do the drawing in a week or two. thanks again!
