I'm surprised there isn't a thread about this yet. Once again, a bonkers guest list, but a few things are different:
    • No "VIP" tickets (last year, they cost $125 and guaranteed a pour of Zwanze)
    • $100 gets you 20 drink tokens and no glassware instead of 10 tokens + commemorative glass
    • This year has a Designated Driver ticket for a ludicrous $30 (includes one food voucher)
    • And no mention of all proceeds going to charity this year...
Anyhoo, here are the full details. Tickets still on sale as of this posting, and IIRC, they didn't sell out at all last year, probably because 500 available is a crazy high number.

I was actually just researching last year's. I'm pretty sure tickets sold out (they may have done fewer last year) because I distinctly remember trying to buy them and getting shut out. Or maybe it was just the VIP tickets... It felt at least slightly not worth it to attend without getting a pour of Zwanze.

Anyway, the thread looked like it was locked before any feedback was provided. I was wondering if anyone who attended can say if the drink tokens are enforced or if it's a normal beer fest environment? I know 20 makes this much less of a concern vs 10 though. 80oz is a lot of beer but not so much if you aren't finishing them all (I don't care how good the fest, I always wind up with more than I want of some beers and prefer to dump and move on than get buzzed on stuff that I'm not enjoying).

Tickets did not sell out last year, and it was a very relaxed environment with plenty of room. Great day. They weren't sticklers last year with the tokens outside of the Cantillon table, from what I remember.

I'm actually the exact opposite. While the Zwanze would be nice, it is probably the one I am least excited about. Looking forward to attending.

I feel the same way. It'd be cool to have a taste of Zwanze but with that brewery lineup I'm sure there will be plenty of good beer to drink.

Also, in response to OP, it looks like they updated the page. It mentions you do get a tasting glass, and it also says that all profits from ticket sales go to the Dexter Area Historical Society. http://brewery.jollypumpkin.com/blog-1/2017/9/1/2nyqqjbvkmhia3daqnb9sfbjw27bhu

Not surprised, honestly. It did surprise me to see no mention of charity, as that's typically how JP rolls.

Around 200 will get a pour (assuming that visiting brewers and some staff also get a pour). Cantillon kegs are small, typically 30L iirc.

    Greetings,
Maybe this paragraph wasn't there last time y'all checked but it was there yesterday when I bought my TIX:

Day of Zwanze at Jolly Pumpkin is hosted by The Dexter Area Historical Society.
The Dexter Area Historical Society (DAHS) is a nonprofit organization in Dexter, Michigan, which supports the preservation of the history of the Dexter area. All profits from the Day of Zwanze ticket sales will go directly to the Dexter Area Historical Society

First year going, was wondering if the breweries release draft lists of beers they are pouring?

They did last year, yes. JP posted it in the Facebook event a week or so prior to the event, I would expect the same this year.

Im surprised they don't ensure everyone with a ticket gets a pour. I've only been to the Chicago Zwanze at WLV. Every attendee gets a ticket for a 2oz pour, and they sell enough tickets (entry to the fest = 1 ticket) that everyone gets a pour. I suppose if you have a huge space you could sell more tickets that not everyone could even get a 1oz pour, but that kind of sucks. Considering it is a festival for that particular beer and all, even if the beer doesn't excite you much.

Having been to WLV I can't believe they have enough room in that building to hold an event

They either hold it in the backyard area behind the store or split between the store and the bar across the street.

Anyone know about buses from Detroit for the event, like from a bar or brewery like they do for Dark Lord Day etc.? Was thinking about making the drive and staying downtown but a 50 minute drive both ways is kind of a hike. Also...why do they use tickets but also not guarantee a pour, seems worst of both worlds? I would hate to run out of tickets and just stand around watching everyone else staring at their untappd for an hour.

Last year was great, only line was Cantillon. Half the crowd left 2 hours early. At the end, I was pounding Casey, Side Project and SARA like crazy.

What's their policy on bottle sharing?

Their brewery list is very stellar obviously, and im sure I won't be left wanting by it, but it's always enjoyable to break the ice and meet new people with some fun bottles and enjoy the communal atmosphere Zwanze has brought in other places.

I typically go to the one in Chicago, but excited for something new

Yes, I read that and i'm not talking about pre-gaming or drinking in a parking lot. I'm talking about the actual event, in the tent.
