Actually ended up going tonight. Had both Van Hazen and Bendy Straw. Preferred the Van Hazen. Thought it was similar to the last two VH offerings. Nice juicy tropical taste with a nice hop bite at the end. Bendy Straw was pretty awesome too. My thoughts echo others in this thread. Mild vanilla. Much smoother.

Heck I could drink either of these all day. Definitely worth the visit. I will continue to pick up their DDH hazy beers, they are the best in Chicago right now in my opinion.

Hard to argue. With Mikerphone's location being a bummer for me AND their shelf life being a nanosecond, Corridor is my #1 right now.

If they swapped locations...I think Corridor would still win for mouthfeel & consistency.

While I agree a few of Mikerphone's beers have fallen off too quickly, I think it's being a little harsh to compare them from a longevity standpoint to beers we can only get on site or in crowlers.

Definitely love Corridor's beers though. When they're canning in a little over a month, it will be awesome.

For some reason, I was under the impression that the upcoming canning release would just be a one-time thing (or perhaps a trial run for future cans as well). Is it expected that they are going to be canning some of every hazy release?

I hope they don't start canning every single one. It has been nice to be able to go in there within a week or there about and get a pour of whatever release just came out. If they have to lower the amount available on-draft in order to be able to can a certain quantity, that canning amount will disappear quickly (as evidence by how quickly Forbidden Root canned stuff sells out) and there will be a shorter window of time in which one could try it on draft at the brewery.

I agree. While it's nice to have a 4 pack to drink at home at my own leisure, I think Corridor has a pretty good setup going on right now (despite allowing people to buy 6+ crowlers at a time ). I am intrigued to see what the process is like for the upcoming can release that is planned, though.

Roger was on Beer Temple Insiders podcast and said they bought Spiteful's old canning equipment. So I'd assume it's not a one-time thing.

Damn. Well, thanks for the info... even though that wasn't what I wanted to find out (unless they also plan to expand production).

I wonder where they can even put the canning equipment...unless there are some secret rooms in that place I don't know about.

I have no issues with the canning, so long as it doesn't affect the crowlers. I'm assuming that whenever they sell 4 packs, the beer will be sold out ASAP. There's no way I'll ever be able to get up there to buy the 4 packs. And if there's a limit on crowlers or they stop offering them (IMPORTANT: I've read or heard nothing to suggest that there would be), I'm pretty much screwed.

I fully expect Corridor to sell out of cans quickly when available, but I've casually been wondering how much customer crossover there is between Corridor and Forbidden Root (outside of BA). I live in Bucktown and with so many options nearby, I'd probably get to Corridor a lot less frequently if my son's school wasn't one el stop past it.

Are you trying to start some East Coast-West Coast type beef with Corridor vs. Forbidden Root? :astonished:

If that becomes a thing, count me in Team Corridor without a doubt. However, it seems like plenty of BA'ers enjoy both of them. As a matter of fact, while I was at Corridor last night with @kdawgmoney, we saw a few guys at the bar there with a can of Atomic Child...not sure if they were somehow allowed to open and share it there or not. Maybe it was someone from BA???

I was sitting at the bar when they showed up with the Atomic Child...they weren't allowed to open them there, seemed like they just gave a couple cans as gifts to the bartenders.

To start we will be canning only Squeezit. Probably on a three week cycle. We'll be double batching Squeezit and canning 2bbls. The rest will be available on draft (approximately 15bbls). It will be available in Crowlers and Growlers as well. We will limit 4-packs to two per person. We are targeting $16/4 pack. There is ans in the future to can a DDH IPA as well, but down the road. Right now we are in Squeezit can design and are targeting our anniversary week (10/15-20/17) for the first release day. I'll update as more details emerge.

Also, tomorrow marks the return of Salute Your Simcoe. Tapping around 5pm. Three hazy offerings for the weekend.

You guys really are doing great things. I'm glad to hear you thought this through and haven't planned on doing cans at the expense of crowlers and growlers. And a $16 4 pack!
