I'd be interested to see how that offering from Trinity pans out. I have a shipping buddy in CO who sends me Trinity bottles constantly - their Saison game is on point, but every IPA I've received didn't do much for me. I'd definitely buy a pack if I found it though.

Anyone tried this year's Devil's Reign yet? Not an NE beer, but I remember people mentioning it was in a similar vein last year.

Burst! Is getting a little distro it seems and I picked some up at The Beer Cellar. Had my first one tonight...and really enjoyed it. A super crusher 5% milkshake style. Doesn't have the super pillowy mouthfeel, but still decent enough and the adjuncts are really mellow to me (a plus).

I'm not a huge fan of Burst!. I think the mouthfeel is fine for a 5% pale, but I'm getting an off putting vegetal bitterness on the back end. It also seems to have a really low carbonation level, which I prefer in the sweeter, creamier versions of the style, but doesn't really work with this one, for me anyway.

I wonder where that is coming from. I get no vegetal bitterness to it whatsoever. Not to say that it isn't there for some people, but I do not get it. I love the flavor profile 100%. This would be a home run for me if it was a double ipa and not a 5% pale ale.

Could just be a case of perceiving the bitterness differently.

Ha. Feel free to shoot me an offer, but I imagine you won't have trouble finding it. There was a stack at Beer Temple this afternoon.

Picked up the new 18th Street Pins and Needles from Binny's. Aroma on this one is HUGE simcoe, but the taste seems a bit boozy to me and it is only at 7.5% which is strange.

also picked up that Hubbard's Cave / Dry Hop Devil's Reign 2017. I'll report back how I feel about it probably tomorrow.

So Devil's Reign is definitely not NE style. But a really good Belgian IIPA.

Also got to taste Saint Errant Strange Loops tonight which I thought was really good. Really excited for more from them.

Just cracked open a can of Cirrus canned on 8/4 and it is still really great. Glad to see some of these that hang around on shelves for awhile actually hold up. Beers don't usually last that long in my fridge past the canning date. So I was hesitant to buy a NEW 4 pack of Cirrus that was canned on 8/4 but happy to see it's still great after the time on the shelf.

Also, Epic has their NE IPA out here being distributed in six packs. Thought this was pretty whatever. Real bummed I have five more to work through. Way too malty for me for the style.

Completely agree. I was very disappointed in this take on the style & have handed out my other 5 cans. Not worth the fridge space.
