Dropped in here on Saturday with my daughter and had several friends join us. Great place to drink as a group and one of the more family-friendly watering holes I have found in NYC. Lots of board games to keep us all entertained, grilled cheese of the gods, and the beers were tasting damn good. The Robot Fish released on Saturday is great, but the rest of the lineup was enjoyable too.

I'm drinking a Hybrid Vigor right now and have to say this is enjoyable. I'm guessing there must be some pilsner malt involved because it's got a crisp start and a nice berry-ish, little dank finish. This is a good beer after a hard day's work.

I enjoyed this one last week as well... nice beer, definitely got the crispness and a long dank finish

Yep! It was pretty packed, but not uncomfortably so. Super happy for these guys seeing how much they've grown in just one year.

In terms of the beers, we tried all the new offerings. Some thoughts:
    • Full Contact (Apricot) was definitely the standout. Fantastic harmony of barrel, fruit, sour base flavors without anything overpowering. We all left with a bottle of it.
    • Once Around The Sun is probably the best hoppy beer I've had from them. Still something keeping their cans below the Other Half / Interboro / LICBP tier of NE-style IPAs (maybe lacking in body... it drank like 6-7%), but this is one of their best for sure. Felt like I picked up on a strong Citra presence.
    • Into The Machine is very oak- and barrel-forward. Tons of vanillin--along with the cherry flavors and a pretty sweet body--made this drink like a really unique dessert sour.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the Helles Kitchen Dortmunder. Perfectly rich yet still crisp--an ideal drinking beer for these cooler nights, IMO.

Visiting breweries like Other Half is fun, but if you're looking to try some variety (i.e., not a taplist of 20 different (D)IPAs), give these guys a visit!

Nice. I agree with the sentiment in the last paragraph. I really was interested in that Full Contact too. May try to swing by there tomorrow too. Thanks for the info.

Quick correction: the Dortmunder I had was actually the Gun Hill collab Propaganda Machine, not Helles Kitchen!

Hey hey, there's usually a farmhousey beer on there.

Had a can of this last night. Though it was excellent. Nice biscuity malt profile with a pronounced bitterness that one may expect from a German lager.

Haven't seen much movement on this thread.
I particularly love their Berliners, and to make me happy this year they started canning the Zombie series, with this new addiction.
Presale through beermenu (it just popped up in my app) to buy cans

Crazy how a sour as good as Bride of Beach Zombie gets so little press. Beach Zombie is great as well. If you like sours, check out KCBC.

Marble of Doom was also fantastic. One of my favorite beers last year.
