One could go to the source. Trillium brews in Canton, Castle island too.

Anywhere else North of Boston? I have noticed Bomb! around the Boston area but have not been able to snag some yet.

Anyone seen CBC Picture of Nectar in Waltham/Watertown area? Don't really want to go hunting for it, but would like to pick up a couple of bottles without having to check multiple stores.

Just stopped into Springdale today & grabbed 2 Maple BA Brigadiero Stouts. Can't wait to try those.

As far as stores go, I am huge fan of CBC Newton. They post a lot of the new arrivals on twitter. Martys Newton is pretty good also but you have to check for freshness there.

Not to have the thread veer off topic but has anyone else had the 8/28 batch of Tap's Solar Plexus and thought it was quite a bit different than usual? Not at all hazy, a bit thin, and much more of a licorice/bubblegum sort flavor than the usual fruity bitterness. It reminds me a bit of what I remember Fiddlehead's mastermind tasting like. Still tasty.

I usually blame these sorts of impressions on my own palate but this seems pretty noticeable to me.

To keep the thread on track, I'm always happy to find the Tap on the shelves. Both this and their stout are great and the sour was decent as well. Someone mentioned their new pale ale being good upthread too and I still need to try that one.

Yes I had it and was surprised how it looked when I poured it in the glass compared to the one other time I had it a couple months back. Having only had it once before I can't say the taste was different with any confidence, but it did taste different than I was expecting.

Not exactly a find one would seek out and bought purely because I thought the packaging was cool. If anything it's a reason to enjoy a beer I'd normally not buy...

I buy everytime I see them reasonably fresh. Quite cheap typically. Benchmark pilsner. And yes, cool cans.

I think Fresh Pick is better than any IPA Trillium makes. No joke. Superb beer, even more superb value. Big fan of their Red Prince Marzen as well. Less of a fan of their DIPAs. Haven't tried their pils.

I picked up some Lamplighter for the first time ever at Yankee Spirits in Swansea.. 4 pack of Pressure Drop and 2 cans of Lit (imperial wit). Pressure Drop is very good, interesting hop combo. Tad muddled mayb but overall very enjoyable. My sister, who isn't a beer nerd, liked that the most out of all the random beers we shared this past weekend.

Lit, on the other hand, is amongst the worst beers I've had this year. Overly spicy, tasted like an over-spiced winter warmer with banana in it. Bleh.

Grabbed some Castle Island High Def today and agree with the consensus that it's a winner. Very pineapple-y which isn't the dominant flavor I usually pick up from these sorts of beers, and it seems a tad maltier than average too (in a welcome way not a bad way). It does have a hint of that overly-ripe-tropical-fruit thing going that I don't care for, but it's just a hint.

    Will buy again.

Stumbled into Hermit Thrush Supah Phunk at CBC Roslindale on Saturday, a barrel aged sour saison. Definitely a pleasant surprise. Nice and tart, a little malt, and a little hop. Goes well with Sunday football and a cheese plate!

Saw some JW Lees at a store close by yesterday.

Harvest Ale in Sherry barrels (not sure of year)
2013 Harvest Ale aged in Port Casks
2012 Harvest Ale aged in Whisky Casks
Harvest Ale in Calvados Casks (not sure of year)

$12 each. Didn't buy but considering going back to get them. Never had any JW Lees

Hi Def is legit and easily their best beer. I had it on tap last night and it was even better. To me the best deal is Jigsaw Jazz at 10.99 a six pack. Wonderfully tasitng DIPA at a great price point. Just wished they dated their cans.

A.) What store? B.) IMO the calvados is the best of the bunch, but the port is really f'n good too.

Price seems a tad high, though I could be incorrectly recalling how much I paid last time I picked up JW, which I believed was under $10 a bottle. Again, maybe I'm wrong.
