Agreed. I cracked one on Saturday with a buddy, and it's VERY tart cherry forward now. It's still drinkable, but it's not the same beer it was a few months ago.

However, while I may be wrong, I really don't think it's infected. I think the Cherry has just taken over to a crazy degree.

Sounds pretty amazing to me. Guess it's time to open one and find out....

I'm a sucker for fruited stouts, but I don't think this is the flavor they were going for.

You don't get the stout/barrel at all.

But definitely crack one and report back.

Drank a bottle about 3 weeks ago....very cherry forward in a good way. Also, I'm partial to stouts of this variety. Along with BA expedition, though it was one of the better beers I've had this year

Had it on tap last weekend. Cherry was not over powering or tart. Almost gave off a maple aroma and flavor. Sad to hear that bottles are going sour.

Based on the concerns of others, I'm drinking one of Rue's I was holding.

    I'm finding no issues.

Would have expected explosiveness or additional carbonation if fermentation was continuing. Nothing of the sort.

Cherry is definitely present but nothing I wasn't expecting. No off flavors.

I keep my beers in a cold dark basement. Your results may vary depending on storage conditions.

Thanks for sharing. I loved Rue and bought like 5 bottles. I thought it was outstanding.

There was much more bourbon and vanilla when the bottle was fresh. I also had the Bruery version and was heavy with cherry. The Floyds bottle was absolutely better fresh to me. It's my third highest rated beer on here based on the fresh bottle. The one I had last night wouldn't crack my top 20

With the ever increasingly insane nature of Chicagoland stout releases, are people going to be going early for Crack the Skye bottle release tomorrow (Sunday)?

Battle of Charro II was a huge waste of money. It's like drinking artificial cherry juice. Nasty.

I doubt it, that beer made distribution and lasted a while last year.

In boston at the moment. Hope I am right and crack last till I get back.

How many people went down there because they think it's a barrel aged beer?

Crack the Skye? It has barrel aged coffee in it. The beer is not barrel aged.

It's definitely barrel aged. It was confirmed by a three floyds employee and I believe posted in this thread. Barrel aged coffee was used and the beer was "partially" barrel aged as well. Having tried the beer several times I would say that it tastes as if it was fully barrel aged, however some fresh beer may have been blended in that wasn't barrel aged.

If that's true please post the link. I was always under the impression it was just BA coffee. Would be kind of surprised if 3 Floyd's threw a dark beer in a barrel and didn't dip it in this year's wax
