It's not that the beers are similar stylistically, but similar in the level of enjoyment one derives from consuming them.

Oh okay, that's entirely respectable then.

But I do think it should be obvious that one is definitely more hopped than the other.

Planning a trip to Burlington at the end of September and had a few questions regarding can releases..

    - What day(s) do they typically do releases?
    - What time do they start and has it been necessary to show up early?

    Thank you.

Cans are fridays only, although they did release cans on Labor Day but it seems that was a special thing.

Summer is over which means there are far shorter lines/less people, etc. I was at Foam on Friday 9/8, arrived around 130 PM, plenty of cans. They actually didn't hand out all of the case allotment tickets when we had arrived (first 20 people who want a case can get a ticket to buy them). We were there until about 3 pm and there were plenty of cans still. No need to line up.

Follow them on Facebook for more information, one of the reasons I went on to FB was to keep up with brewery info. They just announced today they will be releasing cans on Tuesdays at 6 PM as well as the existing Friday release.

One more tip on visiting Foam, stop by the Growler Garage which is right near Foam. You can get some great beers there as well.

+1 for Growler Garage. You can get great beers both on-tap and to go. They have a decent fridge selection there for retail sales. Found Junior IPA from Frost on tap there during my last visit -- drank more than a few of those. Additionally, the place has bar shuffleboard inside and cornhole and large-scale jenga outside if you're into that type of thing. Maybe a five minute walk from Foam...?

Is Foam on draft at any restaurants in town, or is it brewery-only?

Brewery only. They distributed to Three Penny Taproom for Montbeerlier this year, but that's the only time I have seen it off-premise.

Visited Foam this past weekend, and I can certainly see why the brewery has garnered so much praise.

The location and vibe are great, the staff is really friendly and accommodating, and the beer is fantastic.

Built to Spill reminded me a lot of Tree House Haze. It had that same soft, orange juice thing going on with maybe a little bit more bitterness, which I really liked.

As much as I'd love to be able to drink their beer more often, I dig their approach, and look forward to dropping in the next time I visit Burlington.

This case count seems really low. I was hoping there would be some left tomorrow...

I contend that they are similar from a quality perspective. So that makes Alchemist cans a bargain over Foam.

Using that logic bud is the best bargain out there, every beer tastes exactly how they want it

Maybe. But Bud is $7+ a sixer. Terrible value for an AAL when you can get PBR or Gansett for $2-3 less.
