The BA speckles were blended into a wax partially barrel aged, or were the BA speckled blended into a wax blend of regular wax and barrel aged wax?

Trying to get my stories straight.

It's at least 90% barrel aged as a whole

I'm seen you indicate that you are a "scientist."

I'm still grossly upset with myself for not thinking of this one first. I was too caught up in the train that was going earlier to have thought of it.

Inspired by this thread, I opened a 17 Rue d'Floyd tonight. I didn't notice "off" flavors, but have to say it is going down hill quick. Fresh it was awesome, but now all I get is bourbon and wood... very little vanilla or cherry.

Can anyone provide a bottle date? I'm just curious, since this thread has produced such vastly different experiences with Rue tastings (and, personally, curious compared to other adjunct stouts that tend to stay on for much longer by comparison).

My unopened on is 3-3-17. Are there other dates?

FFF, with perhaps the exception of DL which has to be released on a specific day, releases things at the peak of flavor....their beers aren't going to get better after 6 months.....

Wouldn't say that about BA Behemoth. That sucker needs to age.

Didn't realize six months have passed since their last barrel aged release. Not counting Chevelier Bertrand and Mother of Dreadnaught. Barrel aged behemoth was in March. Hoping we get a moloko variant around this time like the past two years

Some Rud D'Floyd has definitely turned, had one last night, it's become a cherry sour...doesn't even resemble what it was.
Messaged FFF and they said they have it being tested by their chemist and should get results in a day or so.

Makes me thankful for the 4 bottle limit. I wouldnt have opened one so soon if it was a 1 or 2 limit. Man that fresh one was a piece of art. Shame to see it spiral downward so much

I'm glad the one bottle that I bought I opened shortly afterwards. Tasted excellent with the right balance of cherry and vanilla. It's too bad it's started to turn on some.

Had a Rue last night. Much different beer than back when it came out. It's very Cherry forward and lacks the Barrel depth it used to have. As it warms, you can still taste the vanilla, but not quite as complex as a whole. Still a unique beer, but probably not what FFF had in mind only 6 months later...especially at $30 per.
