Curious what people's thoughts are on Lo Res. Was going to pick up a pack on the way home tonight.

Both new beers are, unsurprisingly, fantastic. Lo Res is just a really nice IPA. The thing I liked about it is the bitter backbone. I know sometimes that gets lost in this day and age of DDHed IPAs but I really appreciate a good amount of bitterness even when there's a lot of citrus and juice going on.

Cognition is just ridiculous. There's a little melon there but a lot of passion fruit and the feel is so soft. Unlike Lo Res, there's almost no bitterness at all. No alcohol either.

Everything these guys make recently is hitting a high note for me. Well done.

Unfortunately I paid with a debit card, and it had already been processed by the time I noticed.

Completely agree. I look for beers like this to go harass a brewer about to understand their hop schedule. I think I would pull back ever-so-slightly on the bitterness (sometimes), but holy hell is this beer fantastic. I had Splish on draft earlier tonight and, between these two beers, I think I've found my IPA happy place.

Cognition is insane for a DIPA. Like others have said, it's incredibly soft and almost no bitterness. That's pretty dangerous for a 8.3% ABV.

I didn't pick up Lo Res since my fridge is really stocked with IPAs at the moment, but the FOMO is strong after reading the reviews here.

I came here to this thread to talk about how good cognition is but looks like I'm late to the party. Low res is great as well but price is always higher than other cans. Will gladly pay $6 a can for cognition though.

Can we talk about these new cans? Not only do they look fantastic, (I'm a sucker for labels) they taste great as well. Drinking a Synthesis now, and I'll repeat what I've said in the past, these guys are still so under the radar.

theyve surpassed other half in can art and their new ipas have to be right at that level. Plus you cant beat the distro method and vibe. they send their new ipas to multiple stores and have weekday releases. they are killing it right now. Ran to greenpoint after work and sat at the bar and enjoyed 3 different styles and had no rush or anxiety in getting cans.

Their distro is great. You can buy a 4 pack or a case anytime at the brewery, or at bottle shops all over the city AND whole foods. I couldn't make it to the release last night but cans hit shop before the brewery was selling them. I only picked up a can of each because I still have a ton of other cans in the fridge, but I might have to pick up some more.

Synthesis is one of my favorite IPAs I've had from any brewery this year. Picked up two four packs at the brewery last night on my way home from work. Every time I've gone there's a decent crowd but never packed and the staff has always been super friendly. I am a big fan of Other Half and this beer can easily compete with most of their offerings IMO. I foresee myself going there more often, well done Greenpoint!

ETA: Their can art is killer as well and I love the little blurbs on the side of the cans.

Had a No Wave this afternoon... excellent. Greenpoint is like the best kept secret in all of NEIPA-dom.

Does anyone know if there are still cans available at the brewery? Any Whole Foods sightings? I was out of town for this release, haven't seen it land at my local WF yet...

I check WF Bryant Park almost daily for beer, and haven't seen the last Greenpoint release. The last cans I saw were Lo Res and Cognition.

They also apparently missed the last Grimm can as well, so I dunno if the person who orders their beer is slacking or what.

Clinton Gourmet got 5 cases of each this morning. He's trying to unload them before the next release. They also got the new KCBC DDH IPA in this morning.

Mid-week release of what is sure to be stellar IPA's. I know what I'm doing Wednesday night.
