Sunday Brunch was 6k so that's 1200 people.

I'm placing my bet on it's sold out in less than a minute. Hope I'm wrong.

I like the club idea but the loyalty thing is not doable. For instance how would they account for all the folks who buy/consume Kane pints at their local pub? I'd like to think that me drinking a my local pub is just as 'loyal' as drinking at the brewery. Only difference is I dont have to drive for 80 minutes....each way.

FO b3 lasted about 40 min on eventbrite with half the limit but probably twice the number of bottles, so essentially a wash in terms of allocations. If you assume both beers have the same demand (a big if), it will probably last a similar amount of time.

I like the ticket method. In a way its still a lottery as tickets will go super fast. But still better than an actual lottery imho for various reasons.

Fair point - obviously there's no way to account for that. I'm fortunate to live close to Kane that I'm there most Saturdays guess I should just be grateful to have access to great beer all the time.

Last time they did a pre-sale it was sold out within seconds. It is essentially a lottery among everyone who tries within the first minute.

Maybe they should talk to Ticket Master about the "Verified Fan" system. Everyone seemed happy with the way that worked for Springsteen on Broadway.

    Glenn,

Are can releases going to still be in person or is that going online too?

    Thanks!

Well I'm comparing it to the one actual lottery kane had, this past years ANTEAD release.

So reason one, geography. Sale date is the 14th, pick up window is 2 days later. Unlike the lottery which gave weeks of notice and allowed for a larger pool of people to make travel arrangements.

Reason two, the lottery allowed for people to set up accounts at Eventbrite for their mules, and manage said accounts. Being there was no actual purchase or sell through per say, so long as you had a warm body to match to tje address on the acct, you had as many entries as people you could convince.

The sale on the other hand requires actively purchasing your allotment in real time. That requires potential mules to create an acct and make the purchase. Even if you make the acct for them, we all only have 2 hands. You can only complete the purchase so fast. And once noon hits the race is on. Theoretically this cuts down on any one person gaming the system to the extent an actual lottery would allow.

This is true. This system should essentially limit each person to no more than one mule.

You don't think the Ticket Master bots are re-programable for Eventbrite, Brown Paper Ticket etc.?

The primary issue is the large number of allotments we've been doing with many of these bottle releases lately. That means too many people. Cans typically have far fewer total allotments and seem to be more manageable...

    I don't know.

What I do know from my own anecdotal experience is I was able to get an allotment of ANTEAD in 2015 on bpt using my 5 year old laptop running on comcast internet.

Maybe there's something to the bot theory. I don't know personally. But clearly they don't shut everyone out even if it's true.

Good luck everyone! My track record on pre-sales/lotteries aren't good. So hoping my luck will change as I haven't had Mexican Brunch yet!

To stir the pot a bit more, I'm all for this way. But I'm still a big supporter of any brewery that has a big demand on their beers to lower limits. I think 2 bottles would be good. So instead of 1200 people getting the beer, you'd get 3000 people. Yes, it creates more transactions and probably a bit more chance for people to 'cheat' the system, but I think the positives outweighs the negatives. But I also support lowering can count limits from a case to 2-3 4 packs. Just my opinion.

I've never had MB so this is probably a stupid question. Is the 5 bottle set all the same or are there variations?
