Oh, I read the first page and only a bit of page two and missed the conversation turning from high willetized to 2017 high westified. I'm Lazy and sat down to eat dinner...what can I say!

From the scattered reports in this thread it does not appear to have hit full distro yet IF it will (second wave of HWestified). I think the only people that have seen it are in california and BC. Maybe someone in Colorado also? 99% sure no one has reported seeing it anywhere in Midwest yet (including Chicago).

 

Would like to be able to find it in Chicago before I move on the 20th.. *hint* *wink*

 

Picked up two six packs in Seattle last weekend. One in the fridge, one in the cellar.

 

No sightings in Colorado

 

It's actually the third wave. First was late 2016 bottled out of Petaluma and then they dropped it again early 2017 bottled out of Chicago.

 

I'm getting the feeling that this is a west coast batch only. All out of Petaluma which means, probably none for me in Ohio.

 

Picked up a sixer at WF in Los Gatos, CA. $11.99.

Saw it today, and assumed it was High Westified. Need to double check now. This weekend lows are in the 40's so seems like a good time to incorporate this too.

 

It is High-West and really good. August 18th bottle date. $12 a 6 pack is a steal.

 

To clarify I bought mine in Washington not far across the border in Bellingham. BC hasn't ever got HighWest but we do see Lagunitas often

The 2 I've had so far have been great! Drinks awesome fresh. Crossing fingers for the Willet to show up too.

 

Anybody ever had High Westified with a year or two of cellar age on it? Is it still as good? I assume the coffee fades, although I do not find this to be a coffee bomb at all, even fresh.

 

Yes.... The original bomber release is great still. Sitting on my final 3 and going to drink this fall/winter. Much better than the 12oz release in my mind. I still have 1/2 case of 12oz and it's good too. Not had one in a bit but it was still good a few months ago.

I had a ~9month old one yesterday and it was just as good.

 

Had a bottle of '16 high west left in the fridge and did a side by side with the ones bottled on Aug 18th. Quite a bit of the toffee flavors had dropped off in the '16. Still wasn't bad. Just not as rich.

A local liquor store is advertising that this release spent 17 months in the barrel. I kind of doubt that is true. I figure they had barrels left when they found out about the sale of high west and decided to run a batch to use the barrels up before switching.
