Are you 100% sure of that?

    Alex pretty clearly stated, "

"We will be selling 300 cans per day, with 600 total cans available."

Now he may have over sold a bit as he did last week. I think last week he sold 30 or so more than planned on friday. Opened sat. With 120 rather than the planned 150.

But if he sold the entire other 300, I forsee a shit storm from his base. I don't believe he would do that after announcing he was selling 300 today and holding the other 300 for tomorrow. Makes no sense.

Was just a guess. Heard him say over 100 people came through before 5:00. I was there at 520ish with 20 people in front of me and 20 behind me when I left.

He posted on Instagram that he was sold out for today but he had to have eaten into tomorrow's stash. He tries to make everyone happy. Not sure why you would say the Saturday crowd is his base? I would think Friday right after work would more likely be locals.

Wish I had seen this. Drove up this morning thinking there were 300 cans it was all gone I'm 30 minutes.

I don't wanna turn into one of those angry comments troll dudes you see on brewery social media channels but damn, that burned.

Looks like they opened with 160 crowlers and blew through them in 30 minutes.

I should just copy and paste 10 pages worth of "conversation" regarding lower limits from the Other Half thread at this point.

I think the gripe (if there is any) would be that troon had said they would have 300 crowlers Friday and 300 Saturday, apparently the only had 160 today.

How are the crowlers holding up btw? Are they lasting 1-2 weeks okay?

And it's an entirely fair gripe!

I kept one of their crowlers refrigerated 2-3 weeks and it still tasted excellent

I sat on a crowler of Egregious Editing Error for 2 weeks. Held fine.

But that doesn't mean all will obviously.

Have a 2 week old crowler of Chained to the bottom of the Ocean in my fridge right now. I'll report how it held when I crack it tonight or tomorrow.

I think he doesn't quite understand his popularity and the popularity of IPAs in general. He will figure it out. Probably should have a limit of 2 crowlers no matter what though. When I was there at 515 to 520 yesterday the limit was 2. I think he felt bad for people showing up when he actually opened getting shut out.

The element really is the crowlers. People were not lining up two hours before open for growler fills...

Yeah I got burned. On Friday it said 300 for Saturday so my wife and I left before noon to drive up. Gone before we even got there. That's my gas and time wasted because of false advertising.

Knowing this makes me happy. Haven't been or tried there beer but a conscientious brewer is a very good thing. They'll do whatever best for the most people and that should mean something.

i think it has a fair amount to do to with the fact the tavern doesn't want every parking spot occupied on a friday for people going to get crowlers, but they should have worked that out. You can't open early, then also sell more then advertised and not piss off a bunch of people

i haven't been up that way in a bit but when i was going in the winter it was very different then it seems to be now.. i'd go, chill in the tavern, drink all the beers.. if i liked something i'd go get a fill.. thats what it seemed everybody was doing save a few people just coming for fills and leaving... i knew it wasn't sustainable like that but i hoped it would hold out for awhile. Metal containers really bring out way more people it seems, also with time and popularity more people would come regardless.

As much as it would suck for all, it may be prudent to limit to 1 pp per beer and then troon could sell more pp if nobody shows etc... it's like cooking.. you put too much of something in you can't take it out... can always add more though

hope it gets figured out or maybe he can start a #crowlerclub idk just spit balling here but do a club of say 100-200.. those folks get fri/sat to grab their couple crowlers without having to rush over and cause a parking mess for the tavern... the remainder of the crowlers are sold 1 pp or something... i don't know the best way to go about it but it seems troon doesn't quite know the best way to go about it quite yet either and alex is way to nice of a dude.... he has his heart and soul into this and i hate seeing things each week since a metal container has gotten involved start eroding away at what was being built

I was like 10/15 mins out at like 12:30ish, right when he announced it was sold out. Wasn't happy especially since I already drove 45 mins on the assumption that he had 300 crowlers today. Thankfully I was already heading south to Kane to pick up my MB so it wasn't a complete waste of time and money. With that being said, I still drove significantly out of my way on bad information from an official source. Definitely not a great experience.

Reiteration/revisiting/reworking old recipes will do it/halt demand…The common folk are prone to chasing new names. Alex could revisit a brew over and over again with a different label, and the dilemma would remain. The solution rests within the name…

This is simply why I stopped going... which is an absolute shame, because I loved it when I went. I can't chance this for now. Super unfortunate, loved my visit there, the Tavern, and being able to pop in at anytime and get a growler fill. I hope he figures it out, but I fear it'll be a while until we go back.
