Last evening I spotted an Andechs Spezial Hell on tap at a local beer bar. On the electronic chalkboard it was listed as being a Festbier.

I ordered one pint and I was glad that I did. It is a very pleasant drinking Pale Oktoberfest beer!

    Cheers!

Glad to grab this nice one. Only saw it as draught in my area last year.

Just the opposite for me, saw cans last year and this year (so far) only a promise of draft availability -- supposed to tap next week. Stay tuned.

oh - I want that. And just about anything else from Urban Chestnut. Any leads on where to find them in the NYC area (besides on tap)? I guess I should reach out to them directly.

Agree on the SN. I've had maybe a half dozen so far, and nothing else is coming close. I had a Surly Fest about a week ago, and I thought it was fantastic. I loved the spicy and peppery character. Maybe it isn't "traditional," but who the hell cares?

According to Beermenus it's at Astoria Bier and Cheese (Broadway) and Beer Boutique in Williamsburg. Good luck!

Wichita Brewing's Oztoberfest. It's about the only marzen I've consumed this year.

    Besides we traditionalists?

Seriously, I had a sampler of the Surly Fest at a tavern the other day -- I was happier with the Pipeworks IPA I also sampled. :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably out of your way, but Deciccos Ardsley has four pack cans of O-Katz, Kudamm (Berliner Weisse), and Zwickel.

Michael, do you have any idea how the retailers are obtaining these Urban Chestnut beers?

There is no NYC distributor listed on the Urban Chestnut website:

    Cheers!

Urban Chestnut is available here, but it tends to hit in waves rather than being consistent.

But how does it get there? Who is the NYC distributor for Urban Chestnut?

    Cheers!

Thanks - I've been meaning to check out those stores next time up in Westchester. I know they have Barrier at times too.

    Beats me.
Yeah they do. Single cans and older single bottles. Check out the closest location and call ahead for Urban Chestnut.

Had a Hofbräu from a keg last night at Schroeder's, very tasty. My favorite all time is still Spaten at the source, probably influenced by a lederhosen umpah band belting out Boney M hits.

The las time I looked on the Paulaner finder, the nearest place was Youngstown, OH. I have not seen PW in my neck of the woods (an hour east of Pittsburgh) for over 3 years. Not sure what is going on.
