Does anyone know of bars in Massachusetts that CONSISTENTLY offer Utopias pours? I know Hops Hill in NYC does offer both SA Utopias and Moonlight Utopia small pours (around 1oz) for 25 bucks. Not interested in locations that *occasionally* have it, I want bars that I'd know for sure they have it.
I believe Sunset in Allston is a good place to look. I also know where you can grab a bottle, if interested.
I'm not aware of anywhere in Boston that always has Utopias pours. Post 390 very often has them, last time I was there it was ~$35-40 for a two-ounce pour. Curious to know if there are spots that have this in regular rotation.
Not sure if it is a regular offering, but Meadhall is currently offering pours of three Utopias vintages - 2011, 2012 and 2015. The $25 for one ounce price is not the only insult. They also mislabel the beer as "Utopia" four times on their printed menu.
So it looks like Utopias 2017 is being released. CBC Fenway tweeted that they have a few bottles. I'll have to see how much OT money I have and find out how much it is because I've wanted to get a bottle since before i was into beer.
Redstone's FB page also showed it is in stock. I've always wondered whether its worth its extreme price tag. I wish Sam Adams would try to put the effort they put into these into their normal beers!
While on the subject, anyone aware of any stores that still have a 2015 on the shelf? Shot in the dark, but having read descriptions of both, I feel like the 2015 would be a more suitable candidate to fill the shelf space opened up by the last pour of my 2012 (still amazing... I regret all the horrible things I said about Triple Boch).
I've seen what i assume are 2015s in a few hole in the wall locations. I think Contan liquors in Somerville has it, and maybe ball square fine wines.
It showed up on Untappd at Wines and More in Walpole. They didn’t have it in stock, but the guy said he could order it from the distributor any time and they would hold it for you. At 250$ the guy was begging me to order a bottle. I hope to try it at a bar.
Sunset has is a lot. I've had pours of it there prettt consistently each year for about 10 years. It's always around $20 for 2-3 ounces
Saw a bottle at Whole Foods at Ink Block in Boston on Saturday. It was in a glass case with the more rare liquors and spirits they have. Very surprised to see it there.
