I actually have a rudimentary Google spreadsheet I've been using since 2006 lol

Started it on a trip to Europe and just kept doing it when I got home as a way to make sure I didn't ever buy a beer I already knew I hated. By the time untapped came around I already had over 1k beers on it, so I was a late adaptor there, not wanting to transfer things over. For the last year I've been updating both my spreadsheet and untapped haha

For you Belgian-ish fans, Portrait of Bruin on right now is delicious.

    Portrait of Bruin
"No lineup of Belgian-style beers is complete without a dark and malty counterpart to the bright and spritzy Golden Ale. Portrait of Bruin pays homage to the classic Dubbels and Strong Dark Ales of Belgium with a slight detour, plagiarizing flavors more commonly found in a British Brown Ale. An intense bread-like malt character kicks things off, slowly transitioning into bold dark fruit notes of dates, plums, and sherry. The story would normally end there, with the classic spicy yeast esters, but then a cloud of powdered cocoa and toffee wrap things up, putting a bow on this dry yet confectionary-toned ale. Not exactly true to style, but unequivocally true to flavor, Portrait of Bruin is a different twist on a Belgian staple."

Could be a excellent FRIDAY for the can release tomorrow. They teased PULP, Grovestand and something called Galaxy Light???

Does anyone have any insight? New beer?

I feel like Galaxy Juice is as light as I want a galaxy-based ale to be. I could go for a DIPA version (not Galaxy Sauce, though), but I'm not very interested in a lighter version.

Thanks man. If released on Friday's, how long do the cans usually last? Specifically at the Sac location?

It's tough to say. The last 3 releases have varied to sold out in a few hours to lasted 2 days.

Got another FW question. Sorry. But I'm trying to narrow it down to which would be the easiest and best for me to visit from an airport > SFO or SMF(Sac). Looking to fly in on a Saturday and fly out same day > late afternoon. Berkeley is out. It's a bit too far from SFO via BART & public transportation. So narrowing down to either San Mateo or Sacramento. But the Monterey location is doable too. Of the 3 which would be better? Or are they all mostly the same?

SFO to san mateo fieldwork via BART/Caltrain would be quite easy....the taproom is right by the hillsdale caltrain station

Also by Bus 398. So are the tasting rooms pretty much the same with food, beer and atmosphere? Also looking to bring back some cans (if available on Saturdays) or crowlers.

yeah haven't tried the buses yet but look pretty convenient as well

much more space at san mateo but all outdoors...limited food menu but serviceable. all to-go service is at the counter now, making it pretty easy/quick. picked up cans of pulp and grove stand last friday night with no line at all.

Cool. Is there anything else in the area to check out? Walking distance? Otherwise I'll just hang for several hours and chill before heading back to catch my flight back to LAX.

I'm a big fan of Gourmet Haus Staudt, in Redwood City. It used to be just German beer (but a large selection of very good German beer), but now they also have a wide range of craft US taps. It's right next to the Caltrain stop (almost shares the parking lot), but if you don't have a lot of time, catching the train down and back would probably add too much overhead.

Do Monterey only if you are already down there.

There's just this one other brewery down the street from their Monterey location....

Sacramento Intr Airport is out in the suburbs (11 miles) from Fieldwork Sac Tap Room. Not much Public Transportation. Uber/Lyft/Taxi only for the most part. Traffic is usually light on Saturdays so about a 15 minute drive.

People already responded to most of your questions but I'll answer the aspects that haven't been:

    - Food is different in the different Fieldwork tasting rooms. The Berkeley one is more upscale because of the partnership with Comal, a very popular local Mexican restaurant. San Mateo still has food, but it's different. Napa doesn't have food at all. Not sure about Sacramento and Monterey.

    - They announce can releases with little notice (sometimes same day, but mostly a couple days before) so not sure if they'll have cans. But non-Berkeley locations are friendlier for can purchases.

    - Crowlers are fillable for most of their beers, but you can even pre-order them online
