The Veil Brewing - Richmond

Likely so but a little more limited than July 4th with people although many Veilians put anything aside for them some release events. Going to make mom, dad, brother, sister, the nieces, nephews and cousins sad that Veil fanboy/fangirl can't make it to Grandma Gertrude's for her famous turkey and cranberry sauce out-of-state this year.

 

I wonder what time they'll open the doors for Dark Daze.

 

I thought that was going to end with "... stand in line to mule this sweet stout". If they keep with the numbers from anniversary party we'd be looking at 900-1000 bottles, 1per person. No matter the quantity/limit, I expect the mule game to be strong that day.

The event says 12PM-10PM. At least Veil isn't dealing in door busters. I still bet there are people in line before 7AM.

 

Releasing tomorrow, 9/19. All re-releases and as the trend has been lately no need to show up before opening I would not guess but also could see a good number of people traveling from out of town. I don't remember the last time one could max out and leave with 4 cases.

Too Far Outta Sight is a straw yellow, hazy DIPA clocking in at 8.5%. Hopped intensely with 50% Citra and 50% Nelson hops.

IREALLYdontwanttoBU is the double dry-hopped version of our 0 IBU IPA IdontwanttoBU. 6.9% and hopped intensely with Citra and Mosaic. This one is incredibly aromatic. We heart this one.
Shooting for 190-210 cases. $15+tax/4-pack. 1x case/6x 4-packs per person.

Crucial Taunt3(Crucial Taunt cubed) is the TRIPLE dry-hopped version of our 8% house DIPA Crucial Taunt. This is the most hops we've put in a beer so far. This one is seriously insane. Incredibly complex and saturated hop character with virtually no bitterness. We do not make this one that often, so grab it while you can.
Shooting for approx 175-195 cases. $19.50+tax/4-pack. 1x case/6x 4-packs per person limit.

We Ded Mon is the natural progression in our Broz series. 100% Citra hopped Triple IPA. Clocking in at 11%, this one is insane. One of our favorite TIPA's we make and now with it's own minimal, gorgeous full label!

Release details for tomorrow, 9/26. Guess Veil is a little offended about the slow sales recently so decided to release 4 debuts to show they still have it.

I wonder if the label to "If You're Drinking This...." will be changed since it says this can will detonate on Tues 10/24/2017. Pretty sure they were planning to release that next month based on that.

- Deathless is a traditional Märzen style lager clocking in at 5.5%. Toasted, biscuity malt with some beautiful caramel complexity and floral European hops make for such an amazingly crisp, fall lager. **We have an awesome treat associated with this beer too. We will be announcing that on (9/25) or Tuesday(9/26).**
Shooting for 70-90 cases. $12+tax/4-pack. 4x 4-packs person.

- If You're Drinking This It's Too Late is a brand new 9% DIPA from us hopped intensely and evenly with 50% Citra and 50% Vic Secret hops. We put a significant amount of effort into making our hoppy beers as aromatic as possible with an explosive hop character on the flavor profile. Consuming these beers as fresh as possible will allow you to experience them in all of their glory. Please keep this in mind, keep these and all of our cans cold at all times, consume immediately, and heed the label warning.

- Limited run of If You're Drinking This It's Too Late/The Veil white pocket tees. There were approx 100x of these made in various unisex sizes. These shirts will be exclusively available from our tasting room and NOT available online(for the time being).

- Never Together is the next iteration of our fruited Never gose series. For this 4.9% Gose, we used pink Himalayan sea salt and conditioned it on an insane amount of blood orange purée. Str8 up blood orange joose.

- Human Adult is our latest collaboration with our dear friends Trillium Brewing Company A few months ago we brewed a beer at their place called Adult Human. It was a DIPA with 100% Citra hops and blood orange purée. For this one we wanted to do something that was #thesamebutdifferent. We started by using the same malt profile and yeast, then we decided to switch up the fruit purée and the single hop. For our version here at The Veil we went with pink Guava purée and 100% Vic Secret hops. We love this beer so much(and the folks at Trillium ). Can't wait to share this one with y'all.

But there's an awesome treat associated with the beer and that's because either they don't think the beer is that good or they know people won't buy it because of the style.

 

If they wanted to move more of that Marzen they should require the purchase of a 4pk in order to be able to buy the glass. Even though the glass is a standard Lager glass I'm sure the the Veilians will love it.

And $22 for a pretty standard white tee w/ black print?! A bit overpriced.

 

I'm happy to see them doing something different and I don't see it that cynically. Of course they know its not a popular style with their base, that's why they're only canning 80 cases. I'm not even a big fan of marzens but its nice to see something besides DIPAs and fruited goses. Honestly the orange gose sounds pretty gross to me, that will be an easy pass.

 

I agree, and I generally like their lagers. I'd be at the very least curious to try it. At least they're not doing a Pumpkin Gose or some dipa (Pump Pump Kin Kin?).

 

Does anyone remember when the last Child Support was? I like that beer a lot (more than the other pilsner they do), I hope they haven't given up on it.

If a good lager makes you puke then maybe beer isn't for you.

 

Final counts for today. The hype has returned as apparently the line is out the lot (est. 75-100) so do a favor and wait for anyone thinking of heading out. Same story goes.....the beer will still be there in a few hours but most likely the line won't (or be very short).
