I emailed them several months ago asking if they were planning a switch to cans. They said there are no plans to switch from bottles. Its interesting to me that they still use bottles...glass recycling rates in the Northeast are very low. Even the glass you put in with your recycling is likely to end up at a landfill as the costs associated with cleaning and recycling glass are high (labels, breakage and mixing of different glass colors, etc)...higher than just making new glass. On the other hand, cans are recycled at a very high rate given the value of the aluminum.

I have no idea, but are all of their beers bottle conditioned?

SN does it for pale ale. Mystic is doing it for table beer.

Sure. A well sealed can is just as capable of holding the pressure as a bottle cap which is the weakest point on the bottle. One benefit of canning without conditioning is you can control the level of carbonation more precisely. You run the risk of under-carbing (Or over-carbing, aka creating bottle bombs) when you bottle condition.

Another drawback to can/bottle conditioning is warehouse space. You can stack empty bottles to the roof whereas filled bottles weigh a lot more and can't be stacked too high.

Tix on sale. Got myself a 10am reservation. Haven't had Dinner in quite a while, so I'm pretty stoked.

9am here. Tickets were gone in about a minute. I'd say demand is still there, haha.

I'm gonna go read the FB comments bitching about the system now. Always a highlight of my day.

So I bought a ticket for a friend who is going (and per the rules for the ticket site, says you can buy a ticket for someone else as long as their name is on the ticket). When I bought the ticket, I put all their info and just had my billing info... yet email confirmation is showing my info now?

Perhaps the "attendee" is reported properly, just not on the confirmation? Anybody have an idea who has done this before?

So the name under "Detail Information" is your name? You could contact MBC and let them know what's the deal.

Yes... It's my name, not her's (which I filled out her name, birth date, address, etc...). We will contact MBC and see what's up. And there is no real detailed "receipt" info, just that they put your name on their list so who knows.

Yeah when you go you just give them your license and they cross your name off their list. I know some people have had the same issue you're having and have contacted them and gotten it straightened out. Good luck!

So I sent a direct PM to MBC and they checked/confirmed that everything was OK with the proper attendee. So all is OK!

Putting in the effort to sign in online and do all the bs... so, opening a website, refreshing it at 12:30 and seeing if you can buy one is too much work now? At least this way if you don't get anything, you only wasted about 90 seconds of your life, instead of driving however many miles to Freeport, waiting in line for however many hours, and then possibly still getting shut out. I'll never understand this attitude. I was lucky enough to get a ticket so I'll gladly take an hour or so out of my day to go pick some up when the day comes. If I had been too slow then I wouldn't have lost anything more than a couple minutes of my time.

I don't understand the complaint at all, you'd rather go wait in line for an hour?

An hour?? If you didn't arrive at the old Dinner releases 2 hours early you had no shot. And even 2 hours might not have been enough. My last trip non-ticketed trip I was #520-something and I got there before 6am for a 9am opening.

It used to be that people showing up at 7am were shut out. Long live the ticket.

I went up once during the olden days. Got there a bit before dawn in March... can't remember what time exactly, but it was goddamned early. Was somewhere around 300 in line.

So my experience was you get there a couple hours before they start selling, then wait an hour or two once the doors open.

I much prefer the "Oh, they're on sale online! I got it? Great" or "Oh, they're on sale online! I missed it? Bugger."

I'm more than happy to miss a few releases to make the ones I can get in on so much easier and less time-consuming.
