I enjoyed it more out of the bottle than draft. Felt it put Big Poppa b2 to shame.

What do you think changed from draft to bottle?

I felt there was more vanilla flavor and it then let the coffee (columbian blend I think, but don't quote me on that) shine through. Coconut not as strong, which I thought was odd since I figured it would be more present in the bottle than draft. It was still there, just not as pronounced. Tasted smoother as well.

I had their most recent batch of new money and the double IPA with Nelson (can't remember the name) both were awful. The double was a malty mess and new money was only slightly better because it was a lighter version of the malty mess. I didn't finish either of them.

I don't think their hoppy beers have ever been consistent, save perhaps 5 PM Session which is usually solid. I recall having some that were quite good (the Hops Out for Harambe batch of New Money for example), but others have been an absolute mess.

I'm curious to see what the new brewer produces but I won't be rushing out to secure cans of any hoppy beers they decide to package.

Yeah, their IPAs are super hit and miss, with most of them being misses for me. I liked Old Money recently, but outside of that it's been awhile.

I sent them a long e-mail expressing my displeasure with the batch and have gotten no response. But I certainly won't be buying any cans from them again for quite some time. I should have filled a growler with Old Money when it was super fresh and enjoyed it then.

I taste in Perfect Talon, on the back end/finish, what I tasted in all of Koozy. It's only a note in the former, so I don't hate that beer (but far from my fave MT NEIPA).

Has any one opened their bottle of '95 recently?

I've been letting mine sit since I thought the cinnamon was too much when I had it on draft. Some of my favorite stouts have had cinnamon, but beers where the flavor dominates everything else, I've universally disliked. Ideally, I wait until the cinnamon presence is on (roughly) equal standing with the base beer, and the barrel is noticeable.

Since this is my first time truly aging a stout, apart from what other people can say about it's current condition, all I can do is guess when it's ready.

Assuming this is the first release for this beer? Has anyone had the base beer?

I had it at the Bruery's Anniversary Party this past June. It was solid and I'm sure it's better now with some more age/bottled ... but at the equivalent of $52 for a 750ml, no freaking way.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement, especially for the price. I'll be in the area during the pickup window and thought if this beer is Pugachev Royale level good I might spring for it.

If it's the same thing that was pouring at the Bruery Anniversary, then I wasn't really impressed with it. My friends seemed to really like it though.

Could have sworn that at the Bruery Anniversary it was pappy barrel #4 that was pouring and not barrel #1.

Anyone know the difference (other than number)? Same beer, different pappy barrel? Different beer, aging, etc.?
