I'm sure St. Errant is awesome, but I'm out on any brewery releasing hoppy beers in bombers/750s.

Too many readily accessible 4 and six packs to mess with that format.

Yeah, the sooner everyone switches to cans, the more of their beer I'll buy. I'll try to buy bottles if I'm super interested in a beer, but there's too much great canned stuff now that it's rarely worth it. Hell, FR is starting to have semi-consistent 4-packs of their IPAs, so it's pretty hard to say no to that.

I will be very curious to see if St. Errant switches up to 12oz bottles once Mikerphone gets that up and running or if they'll stick with the 750s.

I get that not everyone can do cans, so if I like the brewery/beer, I will buy the format just so they can stay afloat and hopefully switch to a canning line down the road.

My issue with St. Errant is less the format than the availability...they vanish pretty quick.

Expanding Symmetry came out over a week ago and it's still available at Grand (or at least was yesterday), so it's not like it's impossible to find when they do a release. That stout, though, went pretty quick.

I grabbed two bombers of Brony today at Cardinal liquor in Joliet. Looking forward to cracking them this weekend.

    Just copped one myself.

I could see the haze from 20 yards away...my hypebeast meter started throbbing.

So is Forbidden Root. And Pipeworks. And Half Acre. And 3 Floyds.

Sure, only Forbidden Root is doing the NE style available in cans currently that's top tier, but they've had a steady release schedule and availability, while Noon Whistle and More have periodic releases also, but I don't put them in the same class. I'll take an $11 4-pack of NvU over a bomber of just about any IPA on the planet.

Too many readily available world class IPAs in small format to pay a premium on a bomber. In my mind it's no loss at all.

Stouts are a different story though.

Yeah it's crazy that you can see the haze through a brown bottle.

Any word on the Ram Brewery new releases? Tried looking but no luck on what might be in the works.

So this thread started about a year and a month ago....Chicagoland has progressed very far with NEIPAS in that time. Go back and read page one for giggles to see how far we have progressed and where the hype was, wasn't and still isn't or now is...

Hopefully with Rev leading the way on canned (BA) stouts this year, many others will follow.

Enjoying my second Brony bomber of the night. Solid brew. Reminds me of Hubbard's Cave IPAs. The appearance is so opaque you'd expect it to be fuller. Thinner than I expected. Delicious nonetheless.

I like that there is less activity on here...because the breweries that do this style well in Chicago have their own threads now.

Proof, to me, that if you can make a solid (or hopefully better than solid) New England IPA you've got a good chance of lasting in this cut-throat market.

Having a Brony now and don't find it thin, pretty creamy actually. Mango pineapple banana smoothie. Killer. I mean nasty. Stay away.
