Going to be in town Saturday Oct 7 (near peak foliage). Any guesses as to whether or not Heady will still be there that morning? Do they have a set allotment each day or does it sell out throughout the week?

The regular beers typically have a daily allotment. I’m sure they’d like to have Heady available that weekend, so I’d be surprised if you missed it if you hit close to open.

Heading up on Thursday and planning on going to Alchemist and HF. Trying to figure our route out and which to go to first. Does Heady still sell out early? Do any others tend to sell out?

I think you will be fine this Thursday. It's still in between seasons (barely). Was up similar day last year with no issue. If you only have one day and you are coming from 89, I'd do Alchemist first because the line is usually not bad. Then you can be at Hill about an hour later. This assumes you can get to Alchemist around opening.

I was there this past Saturday at around 11:45. No line, nothing looked like it was going to sell out.

We were in and out in around 10 minutes.

Heading to Burlington this Friday. Coming in from Cali.

Been reading the thread and wondering g of it is peak foliage season yet? Do I have to worry about getting there at open on Friday?

    Thanks in advance

Foliage is pretty good right now but it's been near 90 in VT for days which messes with the color a bit. Supposed to cool down this weekend, however.

Cool thank you... not too interested in the leaves, just wondering about line situation at the Alchemist... never been to the brewery, so I was wondering if it's going to be crazy where I have to worry about them selling out(like others mentioned in this thread)

Should not be a problem, I would not wait until the end of the day, noon would be very safe

The warm days actually help the color. Something about activating more of the chemicals that provide the bright colors. Warm days and cool nights are idea for early fall. We are still about 10-12 days out from nearing peak in Central VT.

Warm days cool nights help for sure, but the color change stops when you get hot (high 80s/low 90s), as VT has been, it's just a fact.

Take a look at @ericfisher on twitter, he tweeted about how the heat has messed with color in VT.

I was just at The Alchemist last Friday around 4pm. It was busy, but not really any lines to speak of. Unfortunately they had sold-out out of Heady Topper but I was still able to pick up some Focal Banger to take back to Chicago.

As for the leaves, we left slightly disappointed. We thought that our timing would be perfect but I think the unusually warm weather has definitely messed with the foliage. Just lots of yellow and browns.

And just a quick note...you are only allowed 3 tasters, about 3 oz each. This is not a taproom where you can get a full pint.

Be careful. Just got a load of Heady last week and its a bad batch--first ever for me. Drain pour.

Foliage in VT doesn't start till first week in Oct.

Foliage usually peaks around Columbus Day....maybe a bit earlier up in Stowe area...

Mugaipa - that sucks, guess it's a good thing they ran out before I got my hands on some.

Any word if last week's batch of Focal? Have yet to open any of mine yet.

I have Focal and Heady from last week purchase at the brewery. Both taste great, same as always.
