I agree with those saying Pear Bear was FFF's best sour. It was like night and day compared to their previous attempts which were like tooth enamel removing concentrate they had forgotten to dilute with water Pear Bear had a good balance of sweet and sour and the pear- OMG, the pear flavor was amazing. Don't think I'd ever had a pear sour prior to that one. Hope they bring it back..

That being said, does anyone else have a good attempt at a Pear Sour?

I liked DESTIHL/St. Dekkera Reserve: Poire, although pear was more forward when fresh.

We'll see what happens but a couple staff members last night at FFF told me drunk monk may release today.

I used to dig upland but they all taste the same now. Too acidic and overpowers the fruit

That's not lambic. I'm talking stuff from Belgium.

Next time you're at a bottle shop, grab a bottle of Lindeman Cuvée Renee, or Cuvée Renee Kriek. It's a very solid and readily available traditional lambic, and reasonably priced.

Make sure it's the cuvée though. The regular Lindeman's uses fruit juic concentrate, and it tastes like Welchers.

I think you'll really enjoy it if you liked pear bear, which I agree, is delicious.

    Nice.

I'm curious if there was a limit there. I saw stores in Indy had a limit 1, but in Bloomington, where I am sure much less was shipped, I was allowed to buy 2.

I found it in Columbus on the shelf without a limit. Could have purchased 4 or 5.

Same in Milwaukee, no limit with 4 left on the shelf. I left 2 for the next guy.

They only received 1 case, so there was a limit of 1

Since pear just came up, decided to try this one tonight...pretty balanced, nothing stands out too much, regarding either sourness or pear flavor really. Kind of bready for a sour. 9/23/2016 bottle.

Very jealous that you had Juice Machine, a "white whale" IPA for me...

It's certainly an experience--totally unbalanced and potent. Tons of fruit flavors all over from the hops, but it's also very sharp and almost acidic feeling. At times like Triple Sec lol.

Update: I was bullshitting at the bar next to the kiosk and whispered to the guys "drunk monk."

All he said was.. tomorrow. Which is now today. Maybe no one else gets pumped for a hefe like I do but I love that beer

I like that style, just not usually FFFs interpretation of many styles, which frequently includes hops (where I not prefer them).
