    I thought that was the point of collabs too, to hang around with you pals drinking and shit. That was still one of the best collab beers theyve done IMO.

    I've liked their non-IPA collabs better for the most part with the exception of City Slickers which might be one of my favorite single IPAs from OH. I'm excited for the Bellwoods collab since I have a friend in Toronto who wasn't into hoppy beers until I told him to check out Bellwoods and it also seems interesting.

    Had Simcoe cans on Saturday and they seemed good to me. I had Mylar last night and it was definitely not its usual self. The hop flavors were more muted without a doubt. It wasn't bad and won't avoid drinking the others, but it's certainly not as good as it normally is in terms of robust hop flavor.

    The beer looks/tastes/smells entirely different than previous batches. To not say anything about it to customers, and then hide people's negative comments about it on IG, is not a good look. I don't think that's overblowing anything, regardless of if it's still a good beer or not. We all accept that these beers will vary from batch to batch for sure, but within reason.

    Totally agree about ithe Instagram comments if that shit was happening.

    But I really think it's far fetched to say they should have proactively got ahead of it and communicated up front. The beer isn't off or bad. This isn't like the case of an "oh yeah this stout is supposed to be sour". If this was the first time it had been released nobody would be saying anything. What are they supposed to say if there's not anything actually wrong.

    @otherhalf heads up everyone. DDH Forever Simcoe is different this week

    @beerlover69 different how. Like bad?

    @otherhalf nah just different.

    @beerlover69 better or worse?

    @otherhalf can't really say. Taste is subjective. Just different

    @beerlover69 is it a different recipe?

    @otherhalf no it's the same

    @beerlover69 so should I not buy a whole case?

    Plus some of their beers have changed for the better over time. Should that be communicated up front as well?

    I agree it's not an easy thing to get ahead of, and to your point, the beer isn't infected, or diacetyl, or some other major brewing issue. But will I buy it next time it's released? No, but watch it will be back to previous batches, and I'll be sad I didn't!

    I just think something along the lines of "hey - this batch is slightly different than our previous batches, it's clear and piney" they could still spin it to sound desirable with words like "loads of hops", and I would probably still have bought some. I enjoy buying OH beers that I have no idea what they will taste like, but I don't think you should completely change the flavor/appearance/smell of a beer without some mention to fans aka customers of the previous batches of said beer.

    I wonder what the topic du jour of the October thread is going to be, we've already gone through #LineLife, Resellers, Limits, and now how OH should handle off batches.

    We should start up the stout debate, like what ever happened to those Maple Creamies bottles...

    Wasn't the draft version a few months back just a teaser portion of the larger batch which was headin' into barrels for (presumably) a few months before bottling? Thought I remembered hearing that...

    I'm very confused by the whole thing. I remember being told at the taproom that it was barrel aged, but I cant find any info on that. And @Kanger had mentioned bottling it a while back.

    I know that Hypersleep, the Civil Society collab, was like that. They had a couple of kegs that they kept and put the rest into bourbon barrels.

    I've still got a bottle each of Nuts! (I now the exclamation isn't really in the name but it should be) and the IAL Cardamom variant. Looking to crack those open soonish (not because the weather; I drink stouts year round) to see how they've developed in the bottle.

    I hate to be a complainer, but I'm really disappointed with the Nelson. What I remember from back in the day as a sweet ambrosia "nectar of the gods" tastes like cardboard and earth. Bleh.

    Doyle Brunson + the IPA in me says it checks out.

    I wonder what this weekend is going to be like since OH is having transparency and consistency problems. I wouldn't want to be dropping $50 on a 4-pack.

    +1 for the Doyle Brunson reference. Been spending entirely too much time playing online poker recently.

    I'm currently burning all my empty OH cans in protest of the quality issues. I will be interlocking arms with everyone in line on Saturday
