They're releasing the apple brandy next weekend actually.

To this point they've used it to fortify other Ciders (i.e. Harvest Ration, Firecracker). I couldn't see where they're releasing the Brandy alone next weekend - I don't think they're distilling themselves so maybe it's a collaboration with Blue Bee and one of the distilleries is releasing the brandy?

To this point, I believe, their Hopsap Shandy (8% cider dry-hopped with Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus) is the only Apple Brandy Barrel Aged cider they've released but using a barrel that didn't hold cider makes more sense, right? So Barrel's Life likely = Blue Bee's cider distilled to Apple Brandy -> (guessing Lamplighter's?) Cold Brewed Coffee -> Veil's Hornswoggler+Coconut+Syrup. Sounds interesting, but I know I won't get to try it so gonna tell myself "that's too much going on." But yeah, anything that gets more Apple Brandy Barrels out into the world is good by me, maybe we could get Trickery again.

Side note if anyone hasn't been to Blue Bee it's worth checking out - a really great open space, especially on a nice day, with some really weird and funky ciders. Not Bold Rock etc. here.

I'm sorry...the wording on Blue Bee's FB post threw me off.

Blue Bee is releasing a desert cider(Harvest Ration) fortified with apple brandy from Catoctin Creek

    10/3 releases....
    ______________________________________________
Needsaweek (DEBUT) is a new 8.6% DIPA featuring a blend of Citra, Enigma, Vic Secret, and Kohatu hops. Incredible tropical fruit aromatics and flavor profile. Despite the name, we think it's tasting v good right now, but you can be the judge.
Shooting for approx 90-110 cases. $16.50+tax/4-pack. 3-6x 4-packs per person.

PRBLMS (DEBUT) is a new 11% Triple IPA from us hopped with 50% Mosaic hops, 25% Citra, and 25% Enigma hops. Full bodied, citrusy, and dangerously easy to drink. If you dig We Ded Mon or Uncle Cousin, you will love PRBLMS.
    Shooting for 220-245 cases. $17.50+tax/4-pack. 1x case(6x 4-packs) per person.

Cinnamon Streusel Hornswoggler! (DEBUT) For this Hornswoggler(our house 7% robust chocolate milk stout) variant, we conditioned the base Stout on hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of pounds of Cinnamon Streusel Crunch. What is Cinnamon Streusel Crunch you ask? You know those sugary, crunchy, cinnamon packed crumbles on top of a coffee cake? That's what it is! We also put a small amount of vanilla/cinnamon flavored coffee in there for good measure. It tastes like if you put a whole coffee cake and a ton of Hershey's chocolate syrup into a blender. So tasty!
    Shooting for 125-150x cases. $17.50+tax/4-pack. 3-6x 4-packs per person.

Never Forever is our house Gose Never conditioned on a ton of Passionfruit purée. Clocking in at 4.9%, this is one of our favorite, and most acidic fruited Goses we have released.
Shooting for 70-95 cases. $17.50+tax/4-pack. 2-3x 4-packs per person limit.

Likely not but just swing by Triple Crossing to get their 2 cans releasing on Friday. Those should carry over into Sat.

Ugh, people should buy anything, but a DIPA from TC considering that's just about all Veil brews. I'm actually surprised TC and The Answer brew anything, but a DIPA for that reason.

I still think they’re different enough from Veil that it’s worth snapping them up. TCB doesn’t tend to do very well outside of Waxing Poetic and their DIPAs sooooooo.

What do you mean they don't do well? Don't make good beer or don't sell well?

I don’t think the product is that good outside of their DIPAs and WP series.

Oh by all means. I speak for myself when I say something’s good. What’re your favorites from TCB? Maybe I misjudged them.

Gotcha, I don't think I've had any of their lagers or stouts, but I think their lower-abv IPAs like Clever Girl and Falcon Smash are my favorite and I love Paranoid Aledroid as well. Falcon Smash is frequently on tap at random bars and restaurants around the city, it really makes Richmond feel like a great beer town outside of just the breweries and obvious spots.

Probably more appropriate for the dedicated thread, https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/triple-crossing-brewing-co.482496, for them but I personally think TBC consistently does better beers than The Veil. And to say nothing is good outside of their DIPAs and WP is not accurate, at least IMO. To me it says maybe you have not tried enough of their stuff. Now I'm a hop head and love sours and I have had enough of theirs to know when the release a DIPA or WP chances are if I like the fruit and hops used then I will love the beer. The ones I have have though were just ok are ones where I'm generally not a fan of the hops so not much of a surprise. Battle Creek, Interstellar Burst and Grid are my favorites DIPAs they have done. I have enjoyed all of the WP I've had. oOutside of those styles I really enjoyed Paranoid Aledroid and I'm not a big wheat ale fan. Far from Dawn and Night Lands has also been pretty solid but I prefer those with adjuncts instead of just the base alone. You look at the list of beers they have breweed and just about all of them are an IPA/DIPA or Berliner and for good reason. The other styles are only a couple here and there. They know the hot thing right now if hazy IPAs and they are taking full advantage of it just like many of the other highly popular breweries in the area.

Nothing against The Veil because they do brew some good stuff and Matt's pedigree gets the attention of non-locals but I believe consistency if their issue along with brewing way too many different beers too often. They need to dial in a few (i.e. Crucial Taunt, Master Shredder, Horns) so people know what to expect each week and release those with some regularity. It's really a mixed bag to know if the beers coming out each week are going to be killer or not. What continues to get lines of people showing up each week is the fact that they are practically releasing new names of beers each week with new labels and people have FOMO. As far as knowing I will get a consistently good beer whether it's a new brew or a returning one I would put Triple Crossing, The Answer and Final Gravity ahead of The Veil for my taste and for my want to spend $$ knowing I'll get a very good to great product each week. If I want to follow the hype and just spend $$ hoping to get a very good to great beer then I'll get Veil cans.
