Pretty damn cool. I just want Bender and Coffee Bender. Y'all can have the big stuff.

Awesome news! Surly is one of the relatively small number of "large scale" out of state breweries that would get me to purchase regular packaged flagships and seasonals (Furious, Bender, CynicAle, Abrasive) throughout the year. It's a big challenge, but I'm glad to see them throwing down the gauntlet here.

Lord knows we already have enough Midwesterners moving here, so the next stop is to get some Bell's and Founders to join the invasion now that we can get Surly!

I almost always brush off out of state distro since they always have Colorado equivalents that are just as good, local, and usually fresh. But this maybe an exception. I'll certainly be picking up the occasional Coffee Bender.

I'm pretty excited about this, despite the lack of shelf space in Colorado. I had a chance to try their Octoberfest recently when I was in Wisconsin. One of the better ones I've tried this year.

If only they could transport their beer hall out here. Great place to drink beer plus the food is really solid.

Gah! Todd & Darkness would be amazing. I’d settle for just Todd though.

Man I'd be drinking Coffee Bender all fall if they bring it down.

Which specific beers did you see? I need to know if I should plan a stop by the store on the way home this afternoon!

It obviously depends on the store, but I saw Coffee Bender and Todd. There were likely more, but I was contemplating buying each of those.

Surly used to be one of my favorite breweries many moons ago. I love Coffee Bender, Darkness, some of the anniversary beers and one off sours and when fresh, Abrasive, Todd and Wet (seasonal obviously). They brew some good non-packaged beers as well. However, when I was living in Chicago these beers became shelf turds minus Darkness and Wet and it was hard to find reasonably fresh beers from them. Furious was dialed down some time ago as were some others I believe. I wasn't impressed with the cans I bought last year during GABF week either. Can't say I'm very excited for them to come into the CO market now but I'll give them another go. Hopefully they can maintain fresh stock around here as long as it's selling. Also, I should mention that I haven't had any Surly since Todd left and went to FFF so not sure if the beers have gotten better, worse or stayed somewhat the same.

I would have been way more pumped about this about 3 years ago. I predict these will go about as well as the Cigar City stuff. Just too many good locals now to buy. Our IPA game is damn strong and Yeti/Avery has my huge stout needs covered unless Surly starts replicating 2008 Darkness. More choices is never a bad thing though so this is good news.

I have to say that I've never had a bad year of Darkness and when you mentioned '08 Darkness I had to look through my archives because I was pretty sure I drank that vintage. Sure enough I did at Darkness Day 2012 at 11am. People can hate on Untappd but goddamn it can be a resourceful tool

Good luck with that, we are hard pressed to find anything fresher than a month and I would say 3 months is more the norm and we are in their home state. I saw some Todd that was from the March recently. Needless to say, I haven't purchased much Surly for a while now.

Unfortunately, I think it is just the nature of the beast when you get this big.

Todd the Axeman was good but I foresee Surly cans getting old on our shelves fast.

Todd is solid as f, so is bender. I think surly is going to do better than CCB did, cigar city got a lot of hype because they were the best thing coming from an area that didn't have a lot going on. Surly has maintained hype amidst some heavy hitting breweries.
