Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Looking to be a cooler day on weather today. Might make a beer store haul trip down south today. They have some stuff I was seeking out last week.

    Beers this morning:

My go-to altbier, though have not had it in a while. Flavors of caramel, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nutty malts; with balancing herbal, grassy, light peppery noble hops; and restrained plum/apple yeast fruitiness. Light-moderate balancing earthy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Nice bready/grainy creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness. Clean and refreshing finish. Completely delicious and spot on to style. Will definitely grab again eventually.

Always excellent Belgian stout. Glad they brought it back this year again. Big flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, dark bread, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/smokey malts; with raisin, plum, fig, cherry, clove, pepper, light banana yeast; and herbal hops. Light-moderate peppery yeast and herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Really nice creamy medium-plus bodied mouthfeel. Light hops stickiness and chalky roast. Lightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness. Awesome balance between stout and Belgian yeast complexity. One of my favorite seasonals, but that applies to everything Bell's makes anyways.

5 year revisit. Glad we get Port in MI now. This was fantastic! Amazing head retention and thick lasting lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with some light honey, lightly toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body and moderately crisp. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Refreshingly smooth. Absolutely spot on classic tasting west coast Amarillo/C hopped IPA. Plenty of Columbus aggressiveness. Very vibrant and dank hops, with just enough pale malt to balance the resinous finish. Wish it was available in other formats. Just as amazing as I remember. C hops will never go out of style for me. 4.28

Revisiting this one again now that it has some age. Was too bitter when I reviewed it last year. This is tasting awesome! Definitely less bitter, though not any more impressive than I remember. Flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, cool mint, toasted dark bread, light char, and herbal hop/mint earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and mint/herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; some chalky roast and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness. Minimal acrid/astringency. Zero warming 10%. Will revisit the coconut soon enough too, I had the same complaints on the bitterness. I actually accidentally grabbed another bomber of this one, but no complaints about that. Price is nice. Maybe revisit again in 6 months. I always prefer the base beer with age as well. Wish they would release it without so much bitterness.

You've hit upon what I feel is the problem with this thread - ambiguous end time. I think there needs to be a standard end time based on time/volume of posts, and I really don't care what it is, as long as it is posted and participants can easily access the info.

I agree, and I know BA is a mainly American site, but there are a few Europeans who hang out here, and we're 6-10 hours ahead. So I'll start threads when I feel is appropriate here, and hopefully the thread won't be closed down. Cheers!

I was holding this one for Oct 1st but what the hey . . .

Beautiful amber gold color with nice white cap.

Aroma of caramel, toffeeish malt with a hint of spicy hops.

Flavor is malt forward as one would expect except it's a deep caramel sweet malt without the toffee touches I noticed in the scent. It is a toasty, caramelized flavor much like the surface of a tea cake with added bready notes as if you'd bitten into one. With all that richness it's not sweet as testified to in the aftertaste which is still caramel but dry.

Full medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A conservative approach to middle of the road amber fest beers yet it has elegance in it's simplicity.

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I feel that having our international drinking buddies actively contributing is a good thing. And yes, the time differential can cause problems. Maybe using something like 2400 GMT (Around 0600 EST and 0300 PST, depending on DST shifts) would be reasonable - the few late night, early morning drinkers who post on here would be most affected.

I think 0600 EST would be reasonable, that's about noon in Europe, and the late night crowd can still do their thing. I think there are more late night Americans than early morning Euros on here... I hope you all enjoy us posting some obscure beers for ya!

Good morning BA & thanks to @JamFuel for getting this thing rolling. It's never too early for a beer when you're working nights.

This is a really good rye IPA. I'm going to say based on my taproom experience, $11 four pack of great beer and good draft beer & food, this is my new favorite Hoosier brewery. I know of one that makes better beer, but $11 bombers are not in my budget. Drink well today friends. I have one more night shift before new beers and steins tomorrow. Cheers! :beers:
