It's been a while since I cracked one of these. Tasting good still with the interesting cardamom character, smooth bourbon barrel notes and rich chocolatey coffee with big vanilla. Hoping to hold on to my last bottle for a bit longer to see how it changes after more than a year. This has been aged an extra 9 months since release. Definitely not far off from when it was fresh. Super smooth and rich and gets even better as it warms. Really interesting and great imperial stout from Trillium and Omnipollo.

After that I had my last can of Adult Human which is about 2 months old. Surprisingly still really good, and even better than when it was fresh, as I thought it was quite acidic and now it has balanced and mellowed out, while still being super fruity and juicy, dank, hoppy, with little to no malt presence detectable. Really great beer, and now I wish I had more cans left. Great collab from Trillium and Veil. Cheers!

I love bourbon, too. I really appreciate the complexity that BB aging contributes to beer. And since you're a Cab fan, try Robert Mondavi Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon. Very good, and reasonably priced. The bourbon barrel character is unobtrusive.

ObBeer: I tried Boulevard's The Calling for the first time at a pre-holiday tasting last week. I picked up a single of it at HyVee earlier today. This has to be one of the most dangerously drinkable DIPA's I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, with lots of bitter, citrusy hop character and no alcohol bite at all. Boulevard sort of flies under the radar, but they really put out a lot of fantastic stuff. They are unquestionably one of my favorite breweries.

To update my post from this morning after re-reading it, I meant to type "good idea today," and also, I definitely found out why no one sells a pre-workout stout.

If a guy ever figures out why women are so crazy, he'll win a freaking Nobel prize. Until then, I'll be in the basement enjoying free HBO and another beer.

The trick is to keep dating until you find one who isn't. I know that's not much help, but it's all I got.

This is one of those beers that everyone must try once, but will likely only try it once. A 14% BBA Malt liquor may not be everyones cup of tea, but this does do an incredible job of making such a big simple beer drinksable. Glad I only bought a single though.

Avery Brewing: BBA Vanilla Bean stout.
Only see this beer in Michigan, and it is hard to pass up for 12.79 a bottle.
