    (old) News:

"You guys like cans. A lot.

...we're pumped to announce we're changing the packaging format for all of our hop forward beers (and recently extended to some other styles too) from 750ml / 25.4oz bottles into 16oz cans!

Batch sizes and case counts will go up as we get our legs under us.

Cans will be available at both breweries, but please note we won't be able to split the cases evenly on the same day as packaging for logistical reasons (so fewer cases available in Boston vs Canton on day of packaging). Thanks on behalf of the whole trillium team for your support to help us achieve this incredible milestone."

First two can releases in June (end of the month) were Congress Street and Melcher Street. Cans come in four packs but you can buy individual cans, if you like. Yes, the date is on the bottom.

    Trillium Can Spreadsheet:

@jimmyfausto created this awesome spreadsheet. In his own words:

I've been maintaining a spreadsheet for all Trillium can release information, including sell out times, hours/days available, and other notes. I know availability is a frequent topic here, especially for travelers and newbies, so I've made the google doc viewable by the below link. (Let me know if people have trouble accessing it)

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mmBOt3Bia-mo5gef5A7nENRkFSBx7NCVaSXbH9RYJ78/edit?usp=sharing

All sell out information is from Trillium's social media, unless noted. There have been rare occasions where they didn't post sell out times for a few beers, in which case I guessed the hours.

    New Hours at Canton:

"OUR NEW HOURS RESOLUTION It's a new year! Time for a Team Trillium resolution: make Canton more awesome. We've always felt like party poopers shouting "last call" every Friday night, so starting tomorrow (1/6) Canton will now be open until 10PM on Fridays & Saturdays! And EVERY Sunday from 12PM-5PM! Cheers to more beer, more food trucks, and more fun in 2017."

Please note that LAST CALL is 30 minutes before closing! This applies to Canton site only.

Reminder: Fort Point site does NOT offer any on premises drinking.

    Trillium Garden:

Atlantic Ave & High St, Boston, MA 02110

This beer garden is operated by Trillium on the Greenway. Serving beer by Trillium & wines by Westport Rivers Winery!

Draft pours only. The Fort Point location is a short walk nearby for growler fills and bottle sales.

    Hours:

    Wed – Fri 4pm– 10pm
    Sat – Sun 11am – 1opm

    Please Note:

    Last pour
    - 9:30pm
    Last admission - 9:15pm

WHEN WILL YOU CLOSE DOWN FOR THE SEASON?
The exact date of closing is to be decided (contingent on weather), but we're hoping to stay open through September at least. Stay tuned to our social media, we’ll post closing updates there.

Jeez, in my daily / multi daily visit to Trillium's site, I actually read @NiceBeerCans excellent intro in detail for the first time and saw @jimmyfausto 's spreadsheet for the first time. Boy did I feel like the "dotard"...how most excellent! I regularly check out the same for Tree House and Tired Hands but am on Trillium's website and social media and feel like I'm so on tops of their releases that I never even bothered to check to see if the same existed for it. Well done! Cheers to some fall beers folks! What say ye? Another iteration of Decidious? Cranberry Soak? Some new stout collab?

I'm coming to Boston from Columbus, Ohio next Wednesday (10/11). Looking to bring a case or so of cans home. What's the best time to show up at the Fort Point location to avoid long lines / risk of missing out?

Barring an unexpected special release (basically just a collab IPA or maybe sour) there will be minimal lines. They tend to sell out of a beer every few days but also release something every few days so there's generally a consistent rotation of 10 beers or so.

Your only potential issue will be parking.

TrillBOMB was released about 8 months ago. 8 nonths is a good soak time in some bourbon barrels.

I'm hoping for this month or next for BA TrillBOMB

Your only problem will be which beers to get and how to jam as many cans as you can into your suitcase. Trillium has reached availability/quality nirvana.

As is said above, you needn't worry about lines or missing out, unless there's a big collab released that day. The other missing out part is if they run out of beer due to a big week of releases this week (depletes stock of the regularly rotated beers because it brings people in). There's a high likelihood that you'll be fine, with minimal wait.
Stillings Lot is like $5 for under a half an hour, and there have been plenty of times that I haven't been charged for parking at all.

Great to know, thanks, I live in Brookline and often drive down to Canton just to avoid the hassle of Boston traffic and parking, which is now worse with the construction...but with no line at Fort Point, this adds a complete new dimension to my FP vs Canton decision.

Amazing how driving 5 miles in the city can take as long as 15-20 miles out. Personally I just got used to all the strange stares I get when holding a case of beer on the orange line.

The last batch of Red Stonington has me excited for upcoming wild releases. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing some good stuff roll out soon. Apricot Stonington? Wild Trillium? Raspberry LIneage?

Thinking about all the old wilds makes the original Trillium Farmhouse Saison. Such a nice beer that they just decided to stop brewing one day. High gravity, fruity-but-not-banana-fruity saison

Look out for Peach Super Soak and Blackberry Super Soak. Peach is (if things go to plan) supposed to drop by the holidays according to JC himself. Peach was served at Zwanze and totally blew away every one of the amazing soaks and/or sours Trillium has done yet IMO. Stunningly good. Cannot praise that beer enough.

What was the ABV on these? (or what made them super vs. regular?)

The super soaks, I'm guessing, utilize more fruit hiding the base beer even more than standard soaks? DDF double dry fruited.

Super soaks have more fruit and higher ABV at 7.1%.

From their Twitter today, it looks like they're bottling one of the Super Soaks, though I can't make out which one. "The packaging team is working on the wild line today!! These bottles will need some time before they're ready for retail. Stay tuned."

Was wondering what packaging was up to. Seemed strange to not have a drop on both Monday and Tuesday.

This actually got me thinking. Is there another brewery in the country that 1) you can walk in/out anytime with minimal wait 2) buy damn near as much as your car can hold 3) the beer you buy is absolute world class? It seems like all the other top breweries (well known) you have to wait for a sat or sun release & get there early & you walk out with a case or 2 per person maybe. Like you really have to plan around a beer release.

Seriously, you can walk into Trillium damn near any time of day, wait maybe 15 mins tops, & walk out with a car load of beers that get average ratings in the 4.2-4.6 range. Is there another brewery in the country that you can come close to that?

as much as I like to pooh pooh on Trillium because I think they're a bit overrated, I really like a few of their core beers (fppa, ddh fppa, congress, summer, publick house, pot & kettle), plus really love skimpy sparrow, and whenever they're brewed, I can get a boatload. Kinda hard to argue that they aren't striking a great balance.

Gotta say though, went in to get a pour at the taproom for the first time this weekend. I don't live too close so I'm usually just picking something up, probably average a stop once every 2-3 months. But I happened to be in the area and made a fairly large purchase and decided to celebrate with finally trying Affogato (liked it didn't love it, bit sweet for my tastes). It never really dawned on me before that there was no real bar area to sit at. I was by myself so it was kinda awkward. So it's not really set up for strangers to exchange stories over a beer or two, fair enough, not their demo. But even just watching the crowds, just sort of a shit show. Dogs barking at other peoples' dogs wishing they were anywhere else, narrow walk ways between clusters of people on either side, limited shelf space. Loud af. Decent line just to get a pour. Customers coming in and out who are just picking up cans. Just not a place I'd want to hang out at with my bros for a couple hours.

Hey guys...working on a few comfort related stuff for the Canton taproom, but ultimately even though we have 4000+SF dedicated to it, we still can get jammed up during the busiest times. And cavernously/bowling alley lane empty when we're quiet! We've hesitated to put in a bunch of tables/couches/chairs, because we know that would make people need to wait outside in the heat/cold/rain/snow because we don't really have anywhere to store them when we do get busy (about half the days/hours that we're open). But we're brainstorming some ideas to allow the flexibility we'd like to see. Any good ideas? Post it up here...or shoot me an email at [email protected]

Oh! And we've started the base building work at the new Boston spot, that's still not going to be ready until later next year. A little more comfortable vs the current broom closet we've got at Congress st
