Pours a lighter golden color - semi clear. The head is frothy, white, 2 finger, and fairly long lasting.
The nose is somewhat spicy. I also, to me, get a slight apple aroma.
Taste - is fairly light flavored up front. I do get some spices, and sourness on the backside.
    Crisp feeling, and decent body.
Not bad, and an interesting beer.

When you get old like me nose hairs, ear hairs, and dare I say those hairs down south turn gray. I recommend high rep benches (both flat and incline) , and several varieties of flyes for those other issues.

Watching the American League wildcard game. What a fiasco.

Homebrewed imperial brown aged on rum, coffee and oak. It's been in the bottle about 10 months and it's okay. Only my 5th batch, hence the 5. R for rum. Still has some coffee in the aroma and taste. I'll be ordering supplies for an English barleywine and tropical stout this week. Seems no one wants to make the beers I want for a price I'll pay. Enjoy what's in your glass tonight BA!

Not sure if youve read it but one latest study says hops grow boobs on men due to decrease in testosterone. Hasnt affected me yet and I virtually eat hops

Yeah, I know about the hop boob theory. It's just another scare tactic, like how beer is supposed to kill brain cells and impair your ability to drive and operate machinery. All myths.

This is my strategy. I'm glad someone else is following it too. It also helps me explore my feminine side. You know, like Goses, and saisons (*rimshot!*)... It's Tuesday night. I'm buzzed. I blame this feed... in a good way.

My wife agrees. I, on the other hand, say visit Va on the coast and its waterways for some outstanding oysters. Seriously, if you make it this way send me a note. I will not steer you wrong.

Saw this one in stores today and couldn't resist trying it. Not sure why I was a bit surprised at how good this tastes. I love Boulevard and have no problems with their stouts or barrel aged offerings. The aroma on this beer could be a bit more pleasant, and the mouthfeel is a little thin, but the flavor makes up for it. Big oaky chocolatey roasted coffee notes, hints of whiskey, vanilla, dark dried fruits like fig, plum, raisin, grape, some toasted bread, caramel, with lingering notes of smoky molasses. Really nice whiskey barrel aged imperial stout from Boulevard. Pretty happy to see this as a new year-round. Cheers!

Having a bourbon barrel aged Shipwreck Porter and since its retired and I can't review it on its page I'll do a quick review here.

Look: 4.75 nearly pitch black with a one finger thick tan head that leaves plenty of lacing

Smell: 4 huge bourbon and oak with some nice dark fruit

Taste:4.25. bourbon and barrel flavors dominate, hint of chocolate, hint of maltiness, a touch sour from the barrel, not super boozy for a 12% brew

Feel: 4 pretty good for the style, noticeable carbonation but not too much

Overall: 4 Very good beer, a little heavy on the bourbon/oak though, price is also quite high all things considered. Might grab one more before they disappear to cellar for a couple years and see if some age will reveal a bit more of the base beer.

Back at Bare Hands Brewery in South Bend, my go to spot. A couple of new beers. First up, Strawberry Milkshake DIPA. Sublime.

Next up, Mail Order Bride, their base RIS, with Zen Cafe Coffee and Mexican Vanilla Beans. Worth a try, especially if you like coffee in your RIS, but the base beer is better, IMHO.

Having a Midnight Sun Arctic Devil now. I was really happy to find this one while I was out in Oregon. My expectations of it were high, and they have been easily met. This is excellent!

Good evening, all! I'm still drinking this Beer Camp Dunkle Weisse after pouring it damn near two hours ago. The flavor really pops once it gets warm. It has a nice bubblegum thing going on. All of the Across the World collabs I've tried have been very well executed. Can't wait to see what they'll come up with in 2018.

    Prost!
