The sludge is also known as "trub". Its usually the by-product of dry hopping and the yeast falling out of suspension after fermentation ceases. It forms at the bottom of the vessel and can sometimes be sucked up during transfer, bottling, canning, etc.

I've noticed the "trub" more with Trillium beers than with any others. Doesn't change how incredibly delicious they are.

Don't get me wrong, the beer tasted great. Was just a little odd since I've never seen that personally with OH beers, especially a week fresh.

If it weren't for trub my diet would be entirely devoid of protein

Price reduction from $16 to $14 for Small Green? Please tell me that isn’t a typo

Damn I'm brewing a beer this afternoon or I would be all over SGE. I love SGE and could use some lower alcohol beers.

Any advice for an out of towner making a trip to OH this weekend? Never been and not to sure what the lines are like/how quick the beer usually sells out, good places to eat in the area. TIA!

If you want all the cans, or at least guarantee yourself whatever cans you want, you gotta get there around 8-9 AM to be really sure (though I'm too lazy for the line, so don't quote me, but this is my understanding). But if you aren't incredibly picky and just want any type of OH to bring home, you can show up sometime in the mid-afternoon and there's usually something left, with no line. Last week I got there around 1:30 PM and was able to walk right up and get their Evil Twin collaboration, which didn't seem very popular (apparently it's still available) but was really good.

Lots of good restaurants in the area: Prime Meats, Frankies, Buttermilk Channel, Za-ya Ramen...

given that 3 of the 4 beers on Saturday have been released in the last 2 months, you may be able to walk in around 2-3pm and snag at least 2 of the 4 beers being released.

The Evil Twin collab was a double batch.

I guess the big question for this week -- which beer is the double batch (if there is a double batch)

I don't think they double batch anything when there are 4 cans in one release.

::starting to think it's a little sad that I know all this stuff. I need a new hobby::

Wasn't there a double batch in the forever Simcoe release a few weeks back? That was 4 beers.
