LA/OC area: Restaurants/Bars/Pubs (2017)

The head brewer there is also the former brewer at Smog City and came up with the Cuddlebug/Snugglebug recipe.

 

Anyone heard about this Towne Park brewery that’s opening not too far away from Disneyland?

By all accounts everything about it looks slick and polished. A little bit too slick and polished, if you ask me.

The website, the bottles, the cans...I can’t help but be suspicious about it. I can’t quite figure out why.

 

One of the brewers at Bottle Logic left and went over to Towne Park about a month or so ago. I've seen a lot of posts of stuff he's brewing, but nothing about the inside set up (other than Towne Park etched on the glass in the tanks).

Nothing wrong with having your marketing on point when you start up, or a decent looking tasting room. Can't speak to the beers though.

College ave. space seems great but why the fuck are they even entertaining the idea of putting another brewery on Randolph? Jesus.

 

The Revision Team will be in OC for their official launch on Tues, Oct 10th at Brew Kitchen Ale House. in addition to Dr. Lupulin, there will be four other kegs including a special release that evening.

Nah - Towne Park is over by the old Doll Hut location south of the 5. Anaheim Brewery is still there by the Packing District. They are only around a mile apart from each other, tho.

 

For Craftsman Brewing fans, Maximiliano on York Blvd in Highland Park, besides being a very good Italian/pizza/American restaurant, has several Craftsman beers on tap, had their "house beer" (herbed lager, which was decent) and old favorite 1903 Lager

 

New Board and Brew opening in Tustin Legacy (blimp hangars area) this month

 

Anyone been to the 'new' Anthill? Curious if it's essentially the same as the 'old'?

 

I was stoked when I delivered some stuff to one of the owners, been meaning to check them out. Said they will have 13 taps.

 

Sources indicate that they will be opening with all 13 taps from Stone Distributing. Should be interesting.

 

Hatch in Union Market/The District is still the best taplist in the Tustin area IMO.

 

Went for lunch. All pints and tulips are $3! Pitchers are $12! It doesn't look like they have their online tap list up, but they have Pizza Port Graveyards, Kern River Just Outstanding, Modern Times Critical Band, AleSmith Speedway, etc.. Supposedly the $3 deals are good until their grand opening on the 28th.
