Woodcut beers never really did it for me. But really enjoy Friek, probably my favorite!! Can drink the Sabotuer, Avant Peche and Bourbon Barrel Stout (that isnt infected, solid on tap), Footprints and Shenanigans. These beers were way cheaper than $20, let alone $25. Odell is my favorite brewery, but I really drink mostly Mountain Standard, IPA, 90 Shilling, 5 Barrel, Myrcenary, Red and whatever their pilots are.

Yes, 32 oz mini growlers or regular 64 oz growlers. Doesn't have to be their growler. The only things they usually don't fill up in growlers are their special release beers like Deconstruction/Saboteur/Etc., though on occassion I have seen a select one allowed. I'd imagine Woodcut will fit in the no growler fill category. But all their regular lineup beers and pilot beers are available for growler fills.

Is that Peach Pilsner Haven and Hale Peach Ale? If so, I don't know if they still have that one available. Last I looked at their their tap list it was no longer up. Mayor currently has it on tap though if you just want a pint. http://odellbrewing.com/taproom/

Mmmmm. Myrcenary. Just stick with the money stuff, Odell's.

Hit up Odell's taproom today and got to try the Woodcut. It really is too bad that this will get slammed because the price, as its quite a good beer just nowhere near worth $25.

Also, while they didn't have Haven and Hale Peach Ale they did have a Peach IPA on cask that was mighty tasty and FAR superior to that Haven and Hale, which I didn't actually think was too good.

I need to get over to Odell soon. It's been too long (3 weeks). I had nibs and beans when I was there that day and almost took a 32oz growler home. That was good stuff. I need to get one of those 32oz guys because I can't put down a 64oz growler of stout. IPA, no problem.

Also love that my AHA card gets me a free pilot taster each time. That paid for itself in about 6 weeks.

Ha, I am the total opposite usually; I can get through a 64 oz growler of a stout easier than of an IPA. That, however, is in part to the fact that I am not offended by a flat stout but am with an IPA. But also I love a good stout more than a good IPA, especially at home.

I got to try the Nibs & Beans too...I enjoyed it but personally preferred the prior variations of that chocolate milk stout -- Chocolate Oar and Xocolatl -- to be more to my liking. Not a huge vanilla fan myself, though, which I am sure played a part in that.

Right now the pilot beers they had on tap were all looking good. They had a bourbon barrel aged porter that I really wanted to try but ran out of time. I was also curious about their raspberry porter, not sure I would be a huge fan of it, but I was curious to see what that was about. Never had anything like that.

Chocolate Oar was the tits. Actually did take a 64oz growler of that because I had a buddy coming by the next day.

Yes, that Chocolate Oar was a great. One of the best beers of theirs I have tried, period.

I don't have that big a problem with the price. I pay far more than that for a good bottle of wine. It does however make it tough to buy multiples if you really like this stuff. I'll prob just get one to keep the vertical alive.

I just read your review and you have me got me in the mood for another glass. Unfortunately, my only option is now buying a bottle of it at its exorborinat price as its no longer on tap at the taproom. Hmm....

Are the Mosaic hops the reason there's so much tropical goodness in it? I read the label and it says it does but I don't know a thing about them and just want your opinion.

All I can offer is a rehashing of Odell's description which states that that tropical goodness is the result of the Mosaic Hops. I don't know anything about them either.

Yeah, sorry I put you under pressure, so to speak. I sure would like to see some more brewers giving the Mosaics a go.

    No worries, man.

I was thinking the same about the hops, love to see Odell brew some more stuff up with them.
