Hopefully it's back to good. The ones at Exdo were a lot of fun.

I'd still trade WTF (and probably all other CS events) for more dinners, though. The Gold Medal, Young Guns, and Mercantile Invitational dinners were the bomb.com.

They're having one with Scratch this year if you don't mind driving home drunk from Lyons :smirk:

While Lyons is a pretty cool town, that might as well be hosted in Craig as far as I'm concerned.

I was a Crooked Stave cellar reserve member and it was awesome getting 5 cases of their beer shipped to my door. It's like going to hang out with an old girlfriend who would hook you up. When your smitten you can overlook some things that aren't positive.

I guess the event from 2 years ago rubbed some people the wrong way.

The event 2 years ago was a clusterfuck of epic proportions. I've been to a lot of beer festivals and tasting events, and it's among the worst I've ever experienced. I don't care for the way they handled it or how their staff got thrown under the bus either.

That said, I'm still a long-time CS fan (+Cellar Reserve) and I don't hold grudges. I went back to GABF after saying I wouldn't. Chad has gotten a lot of $ out of me over the years. Hell, my wife is in their ads for WTF. If this WTF doesn't suck I'll consider future events. That would be 2 in a row. I know there are plenty of folks out there in the same boat. 2015 was bad enough where I need 2 events to go off without a hitch to get me back. WTF hasn't kept me away from anything else they do, though.

Not going to be there, but Oakshire is sending a collaboration beer I brewed with them. Really excited about that.

Thoughts on the fest? I thought it was great. It was a very chill vibe. The space was not huge and you could see from the list on porchdrinking that there weren't a ton of breweries in attendance. But each brought several beers and just about everyone brought really great stuff. And this cannot be stressed enough--the crowd was very, very reasonable. Outside of the line for Medianoche Reserve there were almost no lines for anything. I almost felt guilty how easy it was to walk up and get most any beer I wanted. It was even easy to hang out and talk to the brewers/brewery reps. This was the first festival I've ever been to where there was zero line for Rare Barrel. I didn't stand in line for any of the Shelton Brothers beers, but they didn't look crazy. Overall I really enjoyed this and would do it again next year in a flash.

Phenomenal event. Super chill, very well-run. I would call nearly every beer I tasted world-class. Loved seeing the people who created the beers behind the tables, ready to have a conversation with anyone who wanted to engage them.

Awesome seeing breweries like Draai Laag and Scratch (among many others) represented and pouring amazing beer. Always fun to be able to get a pour of Cantillon and Drie as well.

Just a fantastic night all around.

great event, not a lot of people and very laid back. no lines for for beers like atrial, supreme clientele, B2K, PN7 was just insane. Reserve was all coconut. probably the most disappointing beer for me was BA 30th Anniv. didn't expect it to be so thin
