My favorite is still New England Brewing Company (which has existed for over 15 years in its current form) being accused of jumping on a trend due to their name and misleading advertising for not selling "proper" New England IPAs.

    I couldn't agree more.

Hopefully you aren't upset with your sales of your BA offerings in Ohio. They just aren't available enough in the Cincinnati area. Most places have a 1 bottle limit and they are sold out before 5 PM.

I seem to be able to get Jackie O's BB stuff in Cleveland pretty easily. It's rarely ever sold out day of at the places I go to.

The "regular" stuff I agree. BADA, BA Oil, BA Brick Kiln... however recent releases like Cuvee 11, BA Oro, Black Mask, Champion Ground, all were gone in a week-ish and had small limits everywhere I usually go.

I feel that it is more of a distribution issue than supply and demand within the state. Not that I blame Cavalier. Like Brad said, it is an inexact science and an ever changing market.

For example, you will not find any bottles anywhere within my county, or likely in half of the 6 that border mine. At least I have yet to find them, and I have hit a lot of places. In the 3 counties that do, I have found only one place in 2 of the 3. Yet you will come across a random gas station or bottle shop where tons of bottles sit forever, which would probably end up being the case if you brought some into my backyard because there are probably 6-12 people out of 20 some thousand besides me that would buy any, and half of them are my family. So hard to know where to take/ how to best divide up products.

Yeah a weekish is probably normal, I saw the original guys post had said 1 day. Which I never experienced up here. Hell, I just saw a Cuvee 11 still sitting on a shelf at one of my local spots.

I’m just happy any shows up whether I’m able to get a bottle or not. it wasn’t too long ago there was no distribution so no opportunity to get any locally and the 8 hr round trip from where I live is difficult, no fault of JO’s. So keep em coming and I’ll get to try them all eventually.

We consistently sell out of their BA products at my store same day as well. Limit 1 per person because people are always on the hunt in Cleveland. Well.....certain parts of Cleveland I suppose.

We would love to see more sales within the state of Ohio with our BA/specialty programs. This is not the place for you all to air your complaints about not being able to get these products. Tell your retailers, who will then tell our distribution company Cavalier. Hopefully Cavalier will then order more cases/quantity of our BA products.

With all the talk of epidemics of obesity and diabetes, I guess it kinda makes sense that the most popular beers are the ones that either taste like a liquefied donut or a carbonated Capri Sun.

I'm certainly not complaining about it. Just sharing the reality of the situation. I will continue to push my retailer, but they say this is all they can get on their end too, so maybe a Cavalier issue.

On that note, what baffles me is there's a growing popularity in organics and natural foods and ingredients in this country. And for a long time that certainly carried over into craft beer, and some breweries still carry that integrity, Jackie O's being one of them.

But now we are seeing the use of puree, extract and other flavorings in craft beer (and I wouldn't be surprised if colorings are being used in some applications) and no one seems to care or even realize it. People seem to assume that Stone, Ballast Point, New Belgium, etc must somehow add thousands and thousands of pounds of fresh fruit to their IPAs they churn out on a global scale every 2 months. C'mon, its all buckets of chemicals created to simulate citrus flavors.

But what I think is worse is the smaller breweries like Veil serving fruit puree with a splash of beer and claiming it some secret process. The craze over this silliness is why we have the bigger guys shifting their portfolios over to predominately extract IPA.

I agree with pretty much everything you post in this forum, but I know for a fact Grapefruit Sculpin WAS brewed with actual grapefruit when it first came out. Not saying they still do it but at least at one point they did.
