I tried SitR POG, and I have to say: as a big fan of SitR, I loved the POG version. It is extremely mouth puckering, and that is why I love it! Grabbing a few bottles, personally.

Orange zest is something you have to be really careful with. The first time I put an orange peel in an Old Fashioned it had overpowered the drink in minutes. It was still delicious but it also wasn't a BA stout.

Does orange zest mellow with age or is it likely to keep its strength?

Looks like The Wanderer and Frederick H will be seeing the first 375ml release. No word on when though.

I don't know if I believe that. Lacto has an alcohol tolerance of like 10% and pedio has a tolerance of maybe 12%-14%.

I don't trust any of those videos, there's people that drainpour all kinds of stuff to be a troll.

Edit: with the amount of unfermentable (by the yeast) sugars left, if it were infected they'd have MUCH more carbonation than that.

Totally, I see people drain pour good beer for fun on IG!

Also from the video, he only poured a portion of it from the bottle and glass. estimate, 30%? If it was infected, he drank most of the beer?

And why is he pouring it into a public bathroom sink?

I also opened a BT 2015 about a week ago.

    It was excellent, as expected.

There were multiple bottlings with different batch numbers of BT '15. If you claim something's infected you need to include the batch number in the post.

Those of you who have tried zesty mounds, how does the orange presence compare to ST OC?

I just got the email that Sour in the Rye POG will be released to be public. I appreciate being able to buy more than the eight we were allotted but it would have been nice if we had a larger allocation first and then let the public take what was left over. I think that's been the big complaint all year long and I do agree that members should get first dibs and maximum dibs before anyone else, and if there happens to be anything left then it should work its way out into the public. The only upside to this is not being rushed to buy my eight this first week because now I will be able to buy as many as I want next week, but it's still hard to feel like you've got special privileges when anyone else is able to just go online and buy a bottle.

Sorry this rubbed you the wrong way! When something is intended as a Society exclusive, we disclose it as such in the emails about allocations to try and prevent / minimize heartbreak. Sour in the Rye POG is one of our planned distributed releases this year. We certainly want to get as much to Society members as possible in advance of sending it elsewhere. With the sales window being open longer than usual with October allocations this month (we want to keep it open for Society members leading up to Black Tuesday), we didn't utilize the wish list feature, which would have allowed for loading up on more. We can always put an order through for more on the backend for these types of releases. When the public release happens, we will be upping the bottle limits for members.

Presume that any Barrel-Aged Beer Day society archive sales will be sent out on Monday e-mail chain?
