Well hey now! I guess I should have researched a little harder before posting

 

They had their member party (I think anniversary?) this weekend. The 3, 4, 5 bottles were available to the member guests, as well as a few previously released bottles as well.

Really digging the variety of their releases, and probably one of the best peach beers I've had recently from the Masumoto gold dust peach golden sour. Sleeper favorites such as the hoppy wild ale ++Good (with either Mosiac and Centennial) were well received in my group.

I believe the renewals are supposed to be coming next month, with those on the waitlist in October.

 

I'm missed the party. Bummed!

 

Tasted Slide Down my Cellar Door this evening and was blown away. The nose was peaches but with a funk that I usually don't get in sours. It was subtle sand paper with Chobani yogurt in the background. The upfront flavor was largely peaches with some wine character and tartness. This was done so well the beer would have been great without any further depth. But after the finish is where, somehow, the flavor really takes off. It's like an overripe peach had fallen on fresh soil, and you took the earthy skin from the fruit, then chewed on it. I have no idea how this was done but I've never had a beer like it. I did notice there was a fair amount of sediment in the beer. Perhaps this contributed to its incredible flavor and atypical evolution on the pallet.

 

Cellador is lowkey a top 5 brewery in LA. Might even say top 3.

 

Just about the best fruited sours/wilds that I've had from any So Cal brewery, along with Casa.

 

Well that's disappointing. New members of their club aren't "officially" members until the start of next year. So, I can't actually get any bottles of Seconds without trekking down to LA, because I'll still be considered a non-member even if I enroll in their club (which I plan to do).

So, I hate to ask this here, but I doubt I'll have any success on the trading board. If some one would kindly grab me a bottle of Seconds I'll gladly send your way some Berkeley good stuff.

agree with that being disappointing. I REALLY want some of that Seconds but making it down to LA that specific saturday is gonna be difficult. I inquired about proxies (no idea if they allow and also no person in mind. any volunteers? you can have one of my bottles for your troubles if your heading down from sf bay area and they allow proxies

Clearly, Sara and Kevin considered it reasonable that some people think member benefits start immediately after purchase, which is why they addressed it in their email. And for some clubs they do.

I like beer. I learned that I would miss out on a good and intriguing beer by my favorite brewery. Of course I'm somewhat disappointed. But nothing I said was a complaint or criticism. Again, I really don't understand how you thought I was being entitled.

I'll probably make towards LA anyways, since the trip ain't that bad, and I've got family down there.

No, it's not. But what some people are missing is that clubs do occasionally provide member benefits immediately after purchase. And that's exactly why Cellador made a point of member benefits starting the next year.

I refreshed at exactly 8 a.m. , even though I was already signed in and it crashed, have gotten the account log in screen a few times, but haven't been able to get past that. I'm already a 2017 Syndicate member, & already renewed for 2018, so just trying to get more bottles of Seconds so my wife can attend the party with me.

 

Man, I hit "purchase" like 10x by now. Keep getting a pink ribbon at the top as if I left something out but it doesn't say what, if anything is wrong.

I hope I don't end up getting charged for 10 memberships, lol.
