Good Morning BA, have a great Saturday! Gave myself a buzz cut this morning because my hair was getting too thick and annoying again. Feeling refreshed now. Looking like a decent day for weather. Might make another store haul trip later on, we'll see.

    Beers this morning:

Revisit review after 5.5 years. Fantastic! Awesome head retention and lacing on the glass. Big flavors of cracker, bread dough, toasted biscuit, nutty, and light honey malts; with light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery noble hops. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied bready/grainy creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness. Fairly crisp/clean finishing, and very refreshing. Perfectly clean lagering, never yeasty. Still one of the best in the style as I remember. I don't think I had it fresh when I first reviewed it. No caramel or darker malt sweetness here. Amazingly rich and complex Munich malt flavors with balancing hops. Perfect style example. Got a 4 pack last weekend. 4.28

Have not had this in 3 years. Excellent saison! Flavors of big pumpkin, golden raisin, pear, apple, peppercorn, clove, light banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, herbal/floral/grassy hops and yeasty earthiness. Light-moderate tangy/lactic tartness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body and fairly crisp finishing. Nice bready/grainy creaminess and light yeast/spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasingly tart/spicy dryness. Really delicious stuff all around. Perfectly balanced Saison and pumpkin/spice flavors; with a biscuity malt backbone. Apparently they blend kettle soured beer into the saison to get the tartness. Really impressive stuff. Been loving revisiting these Vivant beers recently. Would definitely buy again.

Fantastic old ale! Just over 2.75 years old now, one of my all time favorites. Just got a 4 pack off the shelf on Wednesday. Flavors of big caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, and light nutty/roast malts; with balanced raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, and cherry fruitiness; with a bit of herbal/spicy noble hops. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Full-ish bodied; very big bready creaminess and lightly slick/sticky/syrupy in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no cloying sweetness. Super rich and complex; with perfectly balanced yeast and malt sweetness; with just enough hops for balance. A really underappreciated beer that just sits around, but that is fine by me. I prefer it after 2 years of age. It's pristine stuff at the moment.

Revisit review after 5 years again. Fantastic DIPA! Amazing head retention and thick lasting lacing on the glass. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, bread dough, biscuity malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy creaminess and sticky/resinous/rind hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, minimal hop astringency. Minimal warming 8.5%. Classic as hell West Coast DIPA. Just as impressive as I remember. Very bright and dank Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe hops; with a solid bready malt backbone. Aggressive, yet easy drinking. The C/Simcoe hop combo continues to be one of the best. 4.23

It is going to be a rainy day today which is changing all the plans I had. Having this beer and a good breakfast is definitely happening either way.

Good morning! Up early prepping for our Oktoberfest party! Got three pork shoulders rubbed down, a bag full of brats from the local German butcher, and just waiting to go pick up my keg of Spaten Oktoberfestbier!

I think this is more appropriate for the "What food are you cooking now?" thread :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s still Oktoberfest if you are very simplistic and lack some knowledge of the festival. I’ll plead ignorant for now. It’ll have to end sometime, just like UVa’s season, probably starting today, though it’s not a foregone conclusion yet.

A little slow start (he says at all of almost 10am). Some of those Europeans are being a tad silent today. You can't trust them
