I don't remember how fast the turn around was last year. But if it was a fall release last year, looks like I checked one in on 9/24/16. So probably fairly quick. Downstate I saw very limited amounts. 2 per at one store (they said they got 1 case) and other store was 1 per (they got a 12 pack I believe).

And I'm with others BN is good, but it was lacking last year. BA Expedition from this year was an infinitely better beer. Then again, I've got a thing for Expedition, so I may be a little biased.

I hate being that guy, but to me it tastes nothing like 17 months in a barrel. The beauty of the "up to" just means at some point 1 barrel every 17 months has to have spent 17 months in the barrel, while the rest can spend whatever makes sense (9-12 months probably?).

Or maybe I am too cynical for my own good =/.

You're right. You probably shouldn't buy any.

EDIT: The Devil Flanders' in you says, this beer can't be good for the price. The Homer in you says

   .

It doesn't make it's way to Indiana, unfortunately. A few kind BAs were willing to both trade me 1 earlier this year. I opened the first in April or May and the second like a week ago. It became very Rye for my palette - which is not my fav. I enjoy it fresh - would still buy it if I could find it.

My thoughts about all Lagunitas beers is that I simply will not give money to that company and its ownership but I am definitely too cynical for my own good.

A little late to this, but anyone seen High Westified in the city in the last couple days? I've never tried it, so I figured I'd shoot for a sixer.

I think it hasn't even made it to most small stores, so id guess more will still be hitting the market.

I've got a bunch from last year if you want to try any of that though.

From the discussion it sounded like this was just residual stuff from last year rather than a release....

I'm a bit confused as to whether it's new or not. The comments in the Willetized thread (which is also a combo High Wesitifed thread...confusing) made it seem like it was a new batch with new bottle dates. I also thought someone mentioned on here that these bottles have dates within the past couple months, which implies a new batch. I don't have any of this new batch anyway, but I'm curious to get a definitive answer as to whether these are new bottles - my hunch is they are, but who knows.

A bottle I have is dated 230 7 1 so yeah it is packaged this year (Aug 18). And it's from the Petaluma brewery too (1 vs 2 for Chicago).

I wonder if they will have any at the brewery this time.

For those interested, the Guinness 200 Years of Stout in America Mixed Pack is out there. Has 3 each of the following - Guinness Original, 200th Anniversary Export Stout, Antwerpen Stout and Foreign Extra Stout. I had been looking for the 200th Anniversary and came across this. Seems to be a decent mix pack imo. Your interest might vary.

Is Guinness Original different than plain ol' Guinness?

I don't think it's the same batch. My guess it's just the remaining HW barrels they were sitting on, and this is probably the last we'll see of it. And then I think Willetized is due later this year? I could be wrong on that, but I know it's coming at some point.
