New to Ohio (2017)

Wed is usually the first delivery day after Mon bottling runs.

 

From reading this thread and talking to a BA in cleveland, I feel like this will be your experience:

1. If you had to chase it in Chicago, you'll have to chase it in Ohio.
2. You won't get to chase a lot of things you chased in Chicago because they won't exist in Ohio.
3. Exception to #1 are things like No Rules, and big bad baptist that seems to sit on shelves in OH.
4. Beers that see distro in Ohio but not Chicago that are well known doesn't mean you'll have to chase them in Ohio (Sunday morning Stout as an example, as I understand it).

Good stuff, dude, appreciate it.. And I am settling in, thanks.. Just learning where to go.. I'm walking distance to Rozi's, Ross, and Cap & Corks.. Those places seem pretty legit?

 

Legit yes - and all get fairly steady inventory of most seasonal and sought after beers.

 

Rozi's is by far the nicest of the 3 and in my experience gives a really great customer service experience. I try to give them my money above the other two. Simone's beverage is also in the area. All 4 more or less get the same distro, all of which are pretty good for Northeast Ohio.

 

Welcome to the neighborhood! Also Lizardville and Simone's on Detroit. I'm always walking to those 5, albeit Ross not so much, but did get Black Mask and Champion Ground there a couple weeks ago, which was great.

 

If you can’t find what you are looking for in the walk/drive of Detroit from Lizardville, Rozis, Ross, Cap N Corks & Simone’s then it might be a very tough find all together. Not saying it’s impossible somewhere else, it’s just a nice row of stores to hit up that are clustered together. Cheers & welcome to Lakewood!!

Rozis has a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account. All by the name Rozis Wine House.

 

Rozi's is definitely on the ball with this. They post new releases as they come in and often post updates to their draft list.

 

And speaking of their draft list, they'll get some pretty cool stuff available for growler fills from time to time. Especially after specialty events.

That is in a very nasty, rough area. Also CBC has flaked out on taprooms more than once, so we'll see.

 

That is saying it nicely...That area is the hood...people thought Hoof's pub was in a dicey area haven't seen anything yet...I went to Capital and know the area well and it is one that you do not want to be in during the day let alone at night...

 

There were a number of factors, but as I understand it Rheingeist was one of the reasons that Over the Rhine in Cincinnati went from where Traffic was shot to the hipster chic place of today with amazing belgian waffles.

They need to get the City behind them.

 

Yea I've been to Rheingeist and it's an ok place...not familiar with the history of the area it's in other than hearing stories...I know first hand that neighborhood is terrible on the east side...from 71 at East Broad to Bexley...and once your clear Bexley you back to the hood...plus the area south of Broad towards Livingston and Main is just bad and not safe...check a crime data map and you'll see the sheer number of crimes that take place in that area

 

There are about two or three nice blocks of Oak and Franklin just to the east of where this proposal is, but they are surrounded on all sides by one of the worst neighborhoods in the city. A coworker of mine was held up with a gun on one of the nice blocks this past winter.

This is right on the corner of Kelton and Oak. Anywhere you're gonna park for this project is gonna be nasty.
