Goose Island coming to CHS

Can't say for certain, but most of the new GI markets are only getting stuff like 312, IPA, and/or Honkers. This has been the rumor for NC for at least 6 months, but still no GI around. Until they bring their stouts or Belgians, I really don't care. I had the IPA in DC and was greatly underwhelmed.

Apparently SC is supposed to start with just draft for a while, and just the year-round stuff at that. Bottles and the fancy stuff, we're going to have to wait on.

 

I heard from a friend that works for AB in asheville they will have goose island by the end of Nov. He was unsure of exactly which brews.

 

Honkers and IPA are the only 2 currently listed as active by the NC ABC with Christmas, Kilgubbin Red and Mild Ale also approved but listed as inactive. I've tried several times to search for an approved list for SC but so far have not had any luck.

I can say that they did pour one of their belgians at Charlotte Oktoberfest, so it's possible that you might see their more sought after beers at special events and such but I doubt they'll be on store shelves right away.

 

I've been shut out of Phish NYE since '09, NYC NYE runs are stupid. Bring it back down south!

Also, good to hear GI is coming here. Im not huge on BCBS but if it was on shelves Id pick some up.

I know Honkers and 312 were at Durham World Beer Fest, and I think that only 312 and IPA are cleared for sale by the ABC last I checked.

 

Atlanta area just got GI.. I had Matilda on draft last week. I was told Sofie and Matilda and whatnot were coming in bottles and not just draft only.

We won't get BCBS, simply because of the shit ABV laws of this ass backwards state anyways.

 

If I could get Sofie on draft, I would drain the keg myself.

 

Matilda was..... underwhelming for sure... And at the price point, I won't be getting it again.

 

yea I dont freak out over it anymore. I used to, but now I just grab something local and seasonal when im in OH.

 

I wouldn't get any hopes up about BCBS. Maybe in the future, but not anytime soon. I moved from southern Illinois to NC this summer and we didn't get BCBS last year there, in the same state it's brewed in.

 

Pfft, I live in Chicagoland and it's pretty easy to find but the last couple years it sold out in minutes.

 

That's Chicagoland. The southern half of the state was ignored. That's what I was talking about, not all of Illinois. It's still absurd to me that a brewery would distribute a beer out of state and not even send it to all of their own state.

 

Can't wait for GI to make it to Florida
