I believe there were a few cases there when I left work.

Did anyone try the bottled version of Maple Creamies yet? I seem to remember it being super sweet and syrupy when it was still on draft.

Draft was horrible. I too would love to know how the bottles taste. What are people’s thoughts on SDH?

I’ve had it on tap before and wasn’t wowed but maybe it’s improved.

I have yet to try this batch of SDH but I've been a big fan of it in the past, I've found a lot of the other Other Half stouts like SDW, Out There, IAL,etc. have all been sweet to me and I'm not huge on sweet stouts. SDH was also the first OH beer I had so maybe I'm also a little nostalgic for it as well.

I remembwr having it on tap at Blind Tiger and struggling through it. It was incredibly sweet. They also served it in 12 oz, which I regretted immediately since they had so many other good stouts on tap that I wanted to get to.

Id love to hear how the bottled version is but if its even 3/4 as sweet as the time I had it on draft then I'll definitely pass.

You could always blend the two... Short Dark and Creamy.

Also my memory is bad but what’s the deal with it being barrel aged. I remember at the time someone said it was (didn’t taste remotely so to me - just [too] sweet). Or there’s more of it being barrel aged for later? Or people just got confused by the maple syrup aspect and none of it ever was or ever will be barrel aged?

Edit here’s a comment by @avas from last month but i remember there being chat about it a while before that - whenever it was on draft

Ah here we go. From Kanger. I just would have thought they’d mention that on the Instagram release post

At $10 a bottle I doubt its barrel aged, all of the BBA Stouts I can remember were $15. I'm probably going to pick up a bottle out of morbid curiosity, $10 isn't too bad for what it is.

Yeah I don’t think it is either. Just all the confusion confused me at the time - esp with Kanger saying it was. You going to buy a $22 mug to drink your $10 possibly but probably not barrel aged beer?

I picked up 2 bottles last night. I was OK with the $10 price for the beer. But there was no chance in hell I was spending $22 on a coffee mug, give me a break with that pricing.

Oh yea $22 is ludicrous for that, I'm definitely on board the conspiracy that the guys are just messing with the die hards to see what stupid stuff they can get them to buy.

I bet it's barrel aged, just lower priced because it isn't very good.

from what i can find on the rastal stein mug they run like $16 or so... guess a custom one maybe a bit more.. think it was a cool mug and the price isn't far off the market of say a bcbs mug which are normally $25... it is funny that the beer is cheaper but the mug should last for quite sometime... did they sell out of the mug? can't find any info on how many they made/sold/are any left

12 oz cans won't be back anytime soon. Would require altering the entire canning line.

Anyone know how much of the sd&h and mapple creamies there were left? The post says plenty so i’m assuming they will last until tomorrow but still wanted to check.

    Thanks!
