Jackie O's (2018)

I don't doubt they used real grapefruit at one time, when it was a really uncommon beer. But I'm sure there isn't a semi trailer full of grapefruits pulling up bi-weekly, and there's probably not a dozen people working there just to slice em all open.

They make way too much of it for real fruit to be possible.

 

Must be a Cavalier issue as has been stated before because they always tell all the stores up here they barely got any BA cases and can't get anymore, etc. Seems like they need to be ordering more then. They know they have the market to sell these things wonder why they don't order more if it's available to them.

 

@beace are you able to share the dates for this year's anniversary release? Trying to coordinate with a bunch of out of town buddies to make the annual trip.

The perfect way to combat the post-holiday blues.

 

Came in to say that I tried my first Jackie's O beer, Sixteen Sided, a rustic lager brewed with Sante Adarius Rustic Ales last weekend and loved it. If was crisp and smooth and had a great floral, farmy flavor. I had it at Sante Adarius and I'm not sure if it is pouring in Ohio but has anyone else tried it?

 

Have not had but definitely would bang. Hard.

 

Taproom now has an on premisis bottle list that is insane, had a 2014 black maple today that was unreal. Really cool idea.

 

Whaaattt?!?! Oh man, may have to make my way down there Sunday.

 

They gave me a menu to take with me but not sure if I'm allowed to post it so if anyone has a particular bottle in mind to ask me about if they had yesterday you can message me. They also said some bottles they only had about six or one case so they will go fast but then they will replace them with other cool stuff.

Was at Taproom Friday and can confirm the on-premise vintage list is outstanding. Lots of sours and different vintage barrel aged beers to be had, including the original bottling of Dark App. Definitely a good time for a trip to Athens.

 

So much focus on the latest BA/variant/sour/vintage/whatever and I'm over here hoping folks don't forget about Mystic Mama.

 

Let em forget about Mystic. That's my current go-to IPA.

 

I swore off it forever once I realized it wasn't going to have chunks of fruit rollup in it.
