To me, I'd say that porter is definitely one of his strong points - the Mayflower porter to this day is one of the best of that style out there - and Briefcase just solidifies the point.

A non-adjunct "regular" porter that hits the spot is sort of a rare thing in my opinion these days.

I still think the highlight of his brewing prowess is Goody Two Shoes. Brought a case to a bachelor party this past weekend and I think even the non-craft guys enjoyed it. Plus, it's 4.5% ABV...as much as I love the Trillium Dialed In (w/Pinot Gris) that I also brought, it's not exactly stellar for drinking all day and playing lawn games. Great for a "mimosa" in the morning though!

I haven't had Exhibit A's hoppy offerings in awhile, maybe months. I liked Hair Raiser, thought Cat's Meow was just ok, but these breweries seem to need to take time to nail the New England style IPA...I'll probably give these guys and Lamplighter another shot soon.

Hair Raiser was completely different last time I had it. Much more hop forward. You should try it again if you get a chance.

I agree that goody two shoes is a go-to easy drinker. House lager from JA also great for that sort of thing.

Well, I actually did like Hair Raiser, I've had a can or two, and had it on draft a few times. So if it improved, even better.

I prefer Goody Two Shoes over House Lager though. Not only is the former a lower ABV (4.5% vs. 5.2%), but Goody Two Shoes is a very good Kolsch. House Lager just doesn't hit those incredible bready melanoidin notes I typically get from some of the better German lagers of the same ilk.

So is anyone on here coming out to the 1st Anniversary Party on the 9th? If so, my band's playing first (from 1 - 3 PM), I'll be behind the drums, come say hi!

Fresh cans of Danko as of Wednesday, and a bourbon barrel imperial stout brewery-only, draft-only release tonight? It's a good-ass week at Exhibit 'A'.

If Hard Corps is anywhere near as tasty as Swordfish was, I'll be a happy camper.

Hard Corps is seriously legit. Too bad there are no to-go options, as I would have walked away with a bunch. Next stop, John Harvard’s for some DDH Brando...

Agreed, Hard Corps is delicious, it's like booze chocolate milk, with a touch of vanilla.

Anyone try the new demo tapes (14 &15). These guys have been knocking it out of the park for the past 1+ year. Excited to try these two!

Both are really good. The DIPA was my favorite of the two.

Was hoping the pale was better but I will have to see for myself. Too many DIPAs in the fridge, a couple hoppy pales would help round it out.

    This.

There's not much bitterness at all in the pale but it checks all the other boxes

Agreed. It's kinda funny that despite having the same hops / malt bill (I think on this part), they have totally different tasting notes. Fourteen (pale) is way more of an orange pulp-y flavor, and Fifteen (DIPA) has way more of a tropical/grassy thing up front. Really liked both of them though.

Still astounded that Swordfish is STILL available on draft and for growler fills, that thing is an absolutely ridiculous BA-Barleywine.

Anyone try Demo Tape 14 / 15 yet? Picked some up yesterday and looking forward to it!

Really liked them both. Had a preference for 15 (the DIPA) on release day, but finished my 14s last week and they were fantastic too (thought they were even better than on release day).

Does anyone have a price point for Demo Tape 14 & 15? I think a local store has some in stock but they typically price gouge so Im trying to determine if a trip to the brewery is needed.

15 should be in the $4.50 range per can I think
