And they dispersed the front about 30 minutes ago to make things more confusing. This is really unfortunate. Get staff. Give them vests. Figure out how you’re going to organize the line. Not hard.

And now people are bringing their kids to this? To wait with chairs? Absolutely out of control.

It’s not hard to figure out. Fellow thieves get it, “lines are created there are ways to avoid creating them.” Once said a smart brewer from NJ. To anyone there enjoy and have fun.

Yeah, unfortunately Tired Hands appears to not have even tried to regulate things today.

That's not true. They cleared the line in front until 8am. Little hard to regulate 150 plus people at one time with 1 person but an effort was made.

They try to regulate, but people do their own thing. They say no chairs until noon and people line up in a secondary line at 10. No chairs until 8, people get there at 6:30. They even have the smallest allotment, some people can’t control themselves

That’s false. They dispersed the front of the line at 7:30. They did remove chairs set out last night but there were not plenty of visible staff redirecting people constantly who showed up. At 8, the “dispersed” front just reformed.

    It really is baffling.

I think it's fair to say most people are interested in the shakes and not as much the OV. There are almost 1,400 allotments of the shakes. I don't think these people realize just how many that is. Standing in line for 6 hours for this beer is beyond a waste of time. However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps they actually like the line life. Everyone has their own thing, so who am I to judge? I'll wait in line for beer, but to show up at 6:30 AM today?... Yeesh.

Agreed. Supposedly some folks were sitting outside TH last night in the early AM. I don’t really understand...

You said they didn't try. What do you expect them to do when there's hundreds of people? He asked those on the front of the line to go by their cars and he collected unattended chairs. So, there was effort.

I expected 15-20 staffers patrolling where the line would be and stopping people from lining up or another system like numbered bracelets to prevent the derp. I don’t really think it’s asking too much for TH to have some plan in place to deal with people who are lining up earlier than they want them there rather than just assuming people will follow one’s instructions.

15-20 people is a lot for a fairly small operation. How about people control themselves.

    Honestly, that's a delusional statement.

Here's a thought... they could move it to the Fermentaria where there's more room in the parking lot. Open at 6 am with the bar open, and snacks available - if that's an issue, coffee. As you enter you get a number and you can then use your number to make your purchases at an area away from the bar. You're then required to leave and not come back. The problem is that it'd have to be cleared away before they opened for lunch but maybe it could work anyway.

People have been doing that from the start, for what it's worth.

I actually like the idea of them opening at 6 AM. Let the diehards wake up at 3-4 AM to get there at open and then let everyone else get there at their convenience throughout the morning. At least it would prevent the line that I'm sure is insane already at 10 AM... and there are still 2 hours left for it to grow.

The video on Facebook is nuts. Like a half mile long line?

I get that and have seen it before. It’s a rainy shitty day out here, there is a family sitting with their kids and the kids are shivering. Beyond sad for what amounts to 12 beers.

I remember being dragged to things when I was a kid. As a dad of a toddler, he usually has a great time interacting with everyone in line. Lots of judgement being thrown around in here today.
