No worries, I usually buy for myself or pick up for some friends that return the favor. Saw a lot of people going through a ton of effort to try to get extra cans of void and milkshake today.

Wow. I've been lurking this thread for a while now. I haven't tried any Tired Hands beers as of yet, (I'm really hoping to change that soon, though) but I've been following them simply because I find them to be one of the most intriguing breweries right now--and I have to chime in and say this is the craziest release I've seen from them yet. Haha. They keep upping the ante. A pumpkin spice latte double milkshake IPA? That's insane. That Blackberry Raspberry Vanilla Only Void sounds ridiculously delicious, though!

Come on down and check them out even if it's not for a release too! Despite all of the line complaints etc we generally think they do some interesting and tasty things. Check out both spots, cheers!

I'm definitely going to make a point to visit there one day, hopefully sooner than later. It looks like good stuff is always on tap, at any time.

Not really sure why you're so triggered by a line but some of us enjoy showing up early, dropping a chair, going out to breakfast, strolling back in line at our convenience, line share a few beers, get our beers and go home. Could I have showed up later in the day? Sure. Did I want to waste the second half of my day in line and fight for pours at the ferm? Absolutely not.

Do it. The couple behind us in line today took a bus from NYC to Philly, then an Uber to TH.......just to get the OVs. They were hangin out all day and heading back last night. Now that’s a long day, but people do it.

Or you could take the train from NYC to 30th street and then out to Ardmore, they are a block or two from the station. This conversation is refreshing.

I absolutely love Tired Hands, and its one of the few breweries that I think is worth making a trip for. They always have lots of fun, interesting, and good beers on tap, and I really like the vibe at both locations. That said, the can line discussion and hype around "shakes" comes close to ruining this brewery for me. I say definitely plan a trip there, but don't get caught up in the hype around their most popular beers, they're far from their best beers.

It really shouldn't have to, should it? You can completely avoid all of that if you want, it's not like there is a can release every day.

I think @BoardwalkBock 's point was that none of that is really necessary. You are just trying to rationalize a situation that is not rational and solely of Tired Hand's creation. If they implemented some type of ticket or online ordering system - you could still have your breakfast, drink a few beers in the pub (instead of on the sidewalk), and then spend 5 minutes purchasing your beer. It doesn't have to be a day-long process.

I shouldn't have to rationalize or defend what I do with MY time. Thats just commical. We can speculate about a ticket system all day but until that day actual comes ill continue to be there early.

But then why post about how early you got there like it's some badge of honor? That's what elicits the response, because you're in the minority even among beer geeks.

I always get tired of the people saying "Rolled up at 7am, hung out with some great people in line, got out by 2pm, smooth and easy release." I've been to enough of these things to say IT'S NOT THAT MUCH FUN. Especially if you're out there when it's still dark outside and have to wait 7 hours to get beer. Usually it's just people staring at their phones too scared to call out the people cutting in line right in front of them.

Luckily, it's not necessary to do it. They still had shakes after 4pm yesterday with basically no wait. The weekday releases often last until the next day.

I was simply explaining my day and how it went.. or am I not allowed to do that now as well? "Minority".. that's funny seeing how there were a couple hundred people there before 8am..

I would place my bets on another Five Leaves beer and something they normally release like Pineal or AC

Impeccable listening skills in this bunch. So...tired hands tells you all not to even be on their or Ardmore's property before 8am and you still show up at 7:00 or 7:30 and brag about it. Keep it up guys, line up while it lasts.

They specifically said "lining up" nothing about being on the property.. Of course when you have a rule you're not going to enforce people will test it. Fortunately for me and my chair this was one rule I followed. I can promise lines aren't going anywhere..

Please continue to wait 7 hours in a line for something that will still be around come mid/late afternoon when people can just stroll in.

As to just "being on the property", most townships have loitering laws that would apply to this. There are good reasons TH is asking people to wait. I wouldn't be surprised if local businesses / residents have been bitching about the chairs, diminished parking, and hoards of dudes standing on their sidewalks for 5 hours.
