We found our way to German Village. Mostly because wifey wanted a cream puff (as seen on Man gs Food). I might not make it to 42.

ANNUAL TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL PSA:
There is good beer to be had at Texas RenFest. In most cases you don't have to look hard — you couldn't swing a shortsword yesterday and not hit at least one tap of Lone Pint 667 Neighbor of The Beast (fresh 667 too!).

In at least one case, there's solid English/Belgian/German import bottles to be had:


Beers from Prince of Wales Pub, a little bar that serves as a kind of front for the King's Arms Feast Hall. It's very near the main entrance, kind of hidden but basically about 150-200 feet from the opening gates just to the left and across the thoroughfare.

If that PSA can help just *one* BA find a beer at RenFest ...

(In wonderfully cool Houston, TX, right now at Cafe Brasil but not drinking. Well, sipping some good orange-hibiscus tea that's helping confirm my notions of the "floral" note in some beers, but the actual beer beer won't start flowing for me until about an hour from ALCS Game 3 first pitch at West Alabama Ice House.)

Glad I only bought a six, it's overly malty at 68 days old. This was quite easily the freshest I came across this weekend. Some canned in June. I thought the can might have compensated for the age, but I was wrong here. Dissappointing, I knew at first sniff it wasn't going to he good, and it isn't.
