This is all very easy to combat: have someone that works there come in early, and when people arrive they must go and get a numbered ticket/wristband.

Yeah, that makes the most sense. Or at least write a number on their hand. One guy said they would be coming through with a marker, but then we never saw anyone again.

Easy to fake. There'd be 50 people with the same numbers. Chaos.

This may have been true, but we were hinted pretty early on that it would be the first 150-200. Person just needed to confirm with the staff but it seemed to have a pre-determined range.

This would be great in a perfect world. From over hearing some talk about when the first group in line showed up, it's hard to imagine that an employee would show up that early, even before the first 100 unless they enforced a "no line until ..." though then you got cars down for blocks.

And they would all be standing next to each other in line.... and everyone around them would know who has the actual real number.... don't think there would be chaos at all.

But I do hope they go with numbered wristbands as that would be best.

I'm exaggerating a bit, but you and I both know that there would be some duplicate numbers, and who is to say which is the true one? It'd be a controversy, and someone who deserves the bottles may get screwed.

If it was my brewery, I'd just pay one or two employees for a few hours in the morning and have them get there by 6-7. I'm sure there would be people there before them, but they can just hand out the wristbands to whatever line has formed in the order that it allegedly formed. There's still potential for line-cutting before the employees arrive, but it is better than nothing.

Also, if this doesn't happen (or if it does and there's issues before employees arrive), it is up to the people in line to police line-cutting. I know it's very socially awkward (and many of us are already socially awkward), but once one person speaks up, everyone else around that person will call the cutter out as well.

Lastly, I think rewarding people that get there early is a bit silly and makes the incentive for cutting greater. When the output is this low, I think it should be one or two bottles per, no going back for seconds (policed by an ID scanner a'la New Glarus R&Ds), and no reward for being one of the first X.

Guess I took it out of my post. Obviously send people to the back if they have a repeat number, or just give them one bottle.

This is true. If I were running a brewery that had a crazy line like this (highly unlikely), I would do a strict 1 PP at least until I got over 1k bottles. Worst case, I still have some bottles Sunday, though More wouldn't have that issue.

I just think that it would be unfair when inevitably you punish someone who was the legitimate number X as well as the fake.

Regardless, writing on people's hands is just not a smart way to do it when tickets/wristbands are easily acquired. I have no idea why they would ever do it that way.

Tickets/wristbands are a bit harder to manage and cost more money than a box of markers. Any non-generic ones are also pretty easy to fake and unique ones cost more (see FFF and Cigar City in the past). Markers aren't ideal, but it's better than nothing. I don't really think either one totally solves things.

Generic wristband but with a stamp on it (use a different stamp logo every time). That doesn’t cost much. I know this from a stamp of my face from a Cheerios promotion in 1989

I was never claiming markers were the be-all-and-end-all just to be clear. I even admitted wristbands/tickets were better several posts ago.

Back to other nonsense like discussing the cost of vanilla and fake band names.

It was allowed at the Double Rainbow release. Although I'm hoping that they put some more garbage cans down the trail this time - it was an absolute mess of empty bottles around the overflowed cans

Cops were very cool about everything. Us drinkers could do better (public urination, blocking trails, empty bottles). Tip: there is a nearby 7-11 that has a bathroom if you buy something. Good excuse to go grab granola bars and water

Oh for sure, and it's not like there were empty bottles all down the trail. Everybody did their best to throw away empty bottles, but it's hard to do when there's a mountain of empties spilling out of each can.

I'm sure with the added portable bathrooms will come more garbage cans as well.

Looks like tickets will be handed out at the Henna b2 release this Saturday. Not sure how I feel about the one line for bottles and Taproom.
